The Walking Dead Season 3

Why the Maglite suppressor wouldnt work: Needs a Nielson device

HOWEVER you CAN suppress fixed barreled guns IE: Rifles, make Ruger Mark II pistols and similar

People in desperate situations can be pretty inventive. I'm less concerned about them with limited suppressors than I am about other things in this series.

Okay maybe someone can explain to me why killing zombies, everyone is wearing tees and tank tops???????/ wtf !!!!!!!!!!!!! what dont they all have heavy gloves and arms and necks covered ???? and dont say heat!! i dont give a rats ass how hot it is ,you want to die because you sweat!!!!!!!
Second can someone explain how on earth a human set of teeth can tear thru a pair of blue jeans like a shark bite!!!!!!!?????? honestly worse thing that would happen is crushing of skin etc,but no way would it tear thru jeans and skin, come on writers at least try a little bit.
Also since when are zombies stealth and quiet and only make noise when on top of you????????????/ wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! groups of zombies roaming prison halls would be heard on the other side, HELLO WRITERS!!!!!!!!!!! there is no other sounds to drown them out, no power, tvs, lawn mowers nothing, you would hear a pin drop across the building, CMON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! try a little bit writers!!!

First of all, you obviously must not have never been in the southeastern side of the U.S. before. During the spring, there are some days that are drastically hot with some of them being drastically cold. Hell, during this past winter here in the Northern Florida area, it was so hot it felt like it was summer than it was winter, with an occasional day that wasn't even remotely below 70.

Second of all, the human jaw consists of some of the strongest muscles in the human body. A human mouth can bight down with 200+ pounds of pressure. And before you say its impossible, keep in mind that back when mankind were in caves, we didn't have utensils to cut meat. We had to bite into and rip the flesh and meat from the bones of the animals we hunted and killed.

Third of all, from what I've gathered, zombies do not growl or make noise because they only do it when they're excited. The only thing that makes them excited is spotting a live creature to eat (this has been established many times throughout the show. When they see, or even get within reaching distance of a live animal, they growl out of excitement of seeing live flesh to eat). It's not so different from actual animals in the wild. You don't see lions growling everywhere they go. They don't. They do it when they're on the verge of getting their prey. In fact, one line from George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead pretty much describes what zombies truly are: “These creatures are nothing but pure, motorized instinct."

Of course, I could be wrong.

That is a lot of nitpicking for a show about the living dead.

I know. Some people can't suspend their disbelief and enjoy it for what it is and has to try to pick things out that the consider "errors", when they're actually not. The thing that I can't stand the most are the bits where people think there's "plot holes" and they point out stuff that's easily explained if you actually bothered to pay attention.

Is it because they are mag-lights, or because the pistols are semi-autos? Because suppressors work MARVELOUSLY on semi-autos, & a mag-light would make for an excellent starting point (in a pinch) when building one.

As a gun enthusiast I am fully aware of how suppressors work with firearms, I was questioning how they attached them on a semi auto pistol. As in the slide moving back and fourth.

As for nitpicking, this IS a discussion thread for the show. It's a matter of presenting something that you may not understand and getting someone else's take on it.

Actually, we talked about this a while ago, I think. Someone identified the gun as being one of those that have a fixed barrel towards the front and a slide that covers the back half. I remember the discussion because I remember saying, "I thought the gun Rick had in the picture was the Glock he took off one of the dead police officers from 18 Miles Out." But I can't be sure if we actually identified the gun as the Glock or not.

But for the one that's on Carl's gun, it's hard to say what it is. In fact, my dad told me it reminded him of my old aluminum baseball bat from when I was in Little League.

Ah so something like an Auto Mag. I could see that or something similar to a P-38

Yeah, something like that. But honestly, from the picture and from the episode, it's hard to tell if it is like that or if it is the Glock that Rick took from one of the cops in 18 Miles Out. It's one of those that's a head scratcher to me.

Well cb you are wrong shocker! human teeth can not tear thru , heavy material,if you read post correctly, they would crush ,damage but not tear thru jeans. obviously you dont know what your talking about.
second i couldnt care if it was 1000 out , you are asking to be killed wearing anything less then covering everything up.
And yes i can suspend belief if it makes some sense, but since you must be a authority ,why would you not make sure everything is covered up before fighting zombies?
also would you grap a fence and use a knife to try to stab zombies thru it? if you knew anything ,how difficult it is to stab thru a small object like a skull,to easy to deflect of many bones before passing thru to brain.
And third zombies getting excited ,making noises when in presence of people, there movements would not be stealthy and them moving around random would be noisey and chaotic.
So next time you respond GET A CLUE!!

Good lord, lighten up Francis.

Also, wearing armor restricts movement, adds weight, and DOES make you hotter. They are in a world where often times it's smarter to just bug out than fight, so all that stuff will slow them down and shorten their life. They are already having problems finding enough food and water, so they are going make themselves even more fatigued and dehydrated by loading up on armor. But yes, if they stick to the books there will be times they will use some of the riot gear found in the prison.

So I recommend you get a clue.

Amen to that.

First of all, it's GRAB not GRAP. Second of all, I never claimed to be an authority on anything. The fact that you label me as such only shows your ignorance, as I was only answering the questions you asked. If you didn't want any answers, then you shouldn't ask. Third of all, you were asking about wearing clothes and zombie behavior, not how to stab a zombie in the head with a knife. If you had talked about that, you would know I would have agreed with you that it would have been difficult to stab the knife in, and even more so to pull it out (in fact, in the comics, Glenn, Dale and Axel try to develop a method in killing the walkers at the prison fence by using knives. They learned that getting it in was a bit of a challenge, getting it out before the zombie fell back was impossible because the blade got stuck). And BTW, there have been many incidents in which men and women have stabbed someone in the head, using a lot of force and a lot of weight to do so. Below is an x-ray of a teenager who got a knife to the skull.

This one is a butcher knife.

The point is, getting it in really depends on where you stab. If you manage to get into one of the cranial sutures, like the saggital or the coronal suture if you're stabbing downward, you're more than likely to get it to work. Most incidents of knife stabbing required a combination of weight and force. Rick and Shane just easily stabbing into and pulling out of the frontal bone of the skull is unrealistic, as it would require a lot more force and having a lot of their weight behind that force to make it really count. If you had asked about that, I would have told you that.

Wearing tons of protective clothing in the middle of the south like you're suggesting, especially during the summer, you'd become dehydrated and even pass out from heat exhaustion because the material of the clothing/armor would collect and hold heat of your body (add into that the humidity and sunshine on a bright sunny day in July, you wouldn't even last five minutes with a thick article of clothing on).

If you can't accept any of that, or accept the fact that zombies in the show wander around and get excited when they see living flesh, then maybe you shouldn't be watching a fictional show about a bunch of fictional characters surviving a fictional apocalypse with fictional creatures (let alone, watching ANY show that deals with anything fictional, because you choose to nitpick a show designed to be entertainment and enjoyable).

Let me solve the whole issue, if the group really wants to be safe they will head to Dish Network. According to AMC there are no Walking Dead at Dish Network. At least thats what they keep saying every five minutes.
