The Walking Dead Season 3

The govs group did this....I think does anyone knows what happen to the black father and his son in the beginning?

From some set pictures, there's a good chance that Morgan and his son may be turning up soon. Can't confirm it though.

(1) i thought Merle's excuse to the Gov seemed ok. as the leader of the group, it would make sense that he might kill her but order his subordinates to do the dismembering etc ~ he'd probably be the one to present the items to the Gov when they got back anyways. As the Gov, i might think the story a little fishy simple cos it's Merle telling it (lol) but as for outright disbelief, i don't think so.

(2) This Michonne *** gets more and more ludicrous. so now she's developing ninja tree-climbing skills? now she's got a day's start on the party but they still find her no problem at all? she's got time to find and dismember a zombie and leave some oh-so-clever cryptic message on on the very path they come down, meaning she must have at least known they were tracking her and thought that was the best use of her time rather than an outright ambush or just GTFO of the area? Then she's apparently got the ninja ability to disappear into thin air in a matter of moments, leaving not a trace nor a sound, despite being wounded. And as if that wasn't enough, it seems that she's also got a detailed map of the area that apparently no one else seems to have, as she manages to find the prison (getting there whilst wounded) in a matter of hours, whilst the Woodbury teams, who seem to have been established in that area for a good long while, have managed to pass the place by. Because if i was the Gov and i know of that place, i would have had exactly the same thoughts as Rick : if not a good place for a base, at least it would be a good place to raid for supplies and weapons.

(3) Did Hershel not say anything to the group about Rick and the obviously-dead telephone? there's a guy on the edge, just lost his wife, armed, and is hallucinating and/or on the edge of a breakdown, and it doesn't warrant a mention?

oh aye, and Merle bent his bayonet when he fell :-D

Like I said, sword girl doesnt work, maybe in a comic, not in moving pictures. Glad others are catching on so I can say I hated her first before it was cool.

She's not stupid. Even if it was me, I'd know they would send someone out looking for me. She couldn't outrun the guys following her, so she set that sign up as an ambush site. It's your typical ambush scenario, cause a distraction so you get as many guys into a tight bunch as you can, then attack. I'd hardly call running away vanishing into thin air without a trace. I'm assuming you've never been hurt while your adrenaline is going? I've done it and not even realized I was hurt until someone pointed it out or the adrenaline wore off.

If I had to take a crack at the prison, well she knew about it from the fact that Glenn and Maggie were from there and talking about it. Common sense would dictate you head in the direction their vehicle came from. Its probably well off the main roads so all she'd have to do is follow any sort of signs posted of which there has to be some.

stupid thing is, why chase sword girl, they let her go. Why start the episode chasing her when, again, they let her go? Makes no sense what so ever other than, and I dont know this for fact, thats what they did in the comics. If nothing comes of letting her go, then hunting her as for reasoning, then its **** poor forethought all around.

"Even if it was me, I'd know they would send someone out looking for me. She couldn't outrun the guys following her"
why? she had a day's head start, and as far as was shown on the show, they dunno which way she went after she got out of eyeline. if she KNEW they'd send someone, logic - to me - would dictate GTFO ASAP, not fanny about trying to set up clever traps w/ body parts : what would happen if she'd done all that and they'd sent ten people, w/ guns or bows? she's screwed, that's what.

it was nonsensical writing, and after the very strong start the series has had, it's plunging back into the garbage that almost made me quit last series. the standard of writing on this show is shockingly bipolar, veering erratically from the superb to the downright idiotic.

They let her go for Andrea's benefit. They also couldn't really kill her in front of everyone. They went after her so she wouldn't lead a different group to Woodbury. Oops.

Michonne could have found a phonebook in the store Glenn and Maggie raided and found out about the whereabouts of the prison that way..Then decided to prank call the place a few times

First off, climbing a tree isn't hard if you know what you're doing (no ninja skills required). Second of all, you forget something about Merle. Like his brother, they are both good trackers. Besides, to go back to the part of your complaint, there is the possibility that Michonne, to keep herself from possibly getting blitz attacked by Walkers (even with her own near by) before she met Andrea, may have tied her Walkers up and slept in tall trees to avoid getting attacked by any wandering deadhead. Since it was only a couple of hours before nightfall (which has been explained that Walkers are the most active), she had to climb into a tree to sleep, knowing that the Governor wouldn't just let her go and would send a party out, she set up her message, got a good night's sleep and waited, knowing that Merle, being a tracker, was going to show up.

The phone wasn't dead. If you listen closely, when Hershel picks up the phone, it is emitting a noise (not a typical dialtone, but a tone that indicates that it is getting power). In fact, when Hershel places the phone back on the cradle, the noise stop, indicating it was coming from the phone. So, it wasn't a dead phone, it was a phone that was still functional (we see other indications of some bits and pieces of technology still being active. Back in the premiere of Season 2, when Shane fixes the car to run, the radio is on and they hear an automatic transmission from a nearby radio station, it playing a message about the state of emergency). So, if the phone is working, and Rick says someone called him, there's no reason for Hershel to suspect anything. And if there's nothing for Hershel to suspect out of the ordinary when it comes to Rick, especially with the phone working (which backs up Rick's claim that someone called him), there'd be no reason for Hershel to mention it since he respects Rick.

Except that when he first tells him that she killed all three of them, he then tells them that they killed her and two of them were killed by walkers.

Actually I just re-watched that episode recently, and if I remember correctly he says:
"She cut down Tony (I don't really remember if it's Tony), then I killed her. Then we got caught in a crowd and the other two got killed" Then governor asks if he has the sword/head and he says "the other two were carrying the sword/head when the crowd got them"

Obviously that's not exactly what he said, but I'm pretty sure that it's close...

I know it's a bit off topic but my friend in Pittsburgh said there was a notice that Verizon cable is dropping AMC for those in the area who might not have seen it. I doubt they'll drop it for long.

Verizon has cable services? That's new to me.

I just re-watched the scene, and here's the basics of the conversation:

Merle: "We lost all 3 guys, she cut down Tim, put a sword through him. Then biters got in the middle of it, and I got her.
Governor: "Do you have em, the head and her sword?"
Merle: "UH... We got caught in a crowd, the kid had the head, and Crowley had the sword... They both got all tore up..."
