The Walking Dead Season 3

They made it a point to show the governor checking out the photo of his daughter and presumably wife. I have a feeling they'll show her for the mid season finale.

Okay I see Andrea is going to be a problem already making Goo-Goo eyes :love at the Governor and she is just running her mouth while Michonne looks like she wants to tell her STFU! Lol.

Did anyone notice anything familiar about that head in the jar at the end?

not a follower of the comics either - and last night kinda just left me with bleh, wth for 60 minutes.
It just felt like filler material to me since I don't know why so much time was spent on developing the new town.
It was good seeing Merle back and that's bout it for me.

Nice work on spotting that!

I actually liked the Governor character. He seems like a REAL psychopath which is always good for a villain.

I agree. Being an avid reader of the comics, I really can't wait to see more of this character fleshed out on the show. I enjoyed last nights episode very much. As far as the Governor goes, he did what he had to do. He is a psycho, and a control freak.

I still can't figure out why the governor hit the soldiers. They would have made an excellent addition to the community. He's going to make a great villian.

Because they had the manpower to take over when they figured out he was a psycho. He is better off gathering people in ones and twos.

The Governor is all about control. He controls the people, he controls his men. A group of seasoned military men being brought into the city would have been a threat to his command. Particularly once they found out the way he ran things. For him, better to kill them and take their military hardware.

^exactly. He did what he had to to maintain control. Do you honestly think he would remain in control if he allowed the soldiers into camp?

He is crazy, but smart.

Actually, I do have a bit more to comment. Is it just me or did the makeup just get really low quality in this show? Michonne's two "pets" seemed to suddenly have very unimpressive makeup applications as did a number of the walkers at the helicopter crash site. Maybe I haven't been paying attention but until now, the makeup has always looked good... and suddenly it looks very amateur.

I don't feel like the makeup looked amateur but to me it looked very dry and dead (pardon the pun) It looks like they put on a very good make up appliance but left out the last finishing step. Especially with the type of wounds they had I would expect it be at least oozing some blood and remain wet.

I guess I see the threat to command issues.
However, now the Govenor has at least one Ma Deuce 50 cal. Boom. That's firepower.
