The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

That's plausible than most people think. The problem I see with this kid paying for the katana. I mean, a real one, especially a vintage one (circa WWII on back) wouldn't be the same price as the $30 ones you find at flea markets. A vintage and legit katana would be well over $500 bucks (honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it were over $1,000). Even some of the practice ones that claim to be "battle ready" are a minimum of $200. I actually tried to do a search to see if there are katanas that had the same strength quality of old ones were available, only to discover a little bit of a rule of thumb: If you're spending under $400, then it's more likely getting a display piece, not something meant for use in actual battle.

That's why I add the nobody knew explanation. I mean, lets face it... if it were an heirloom or stolen, the person selling it at a pawn shop would probably have no idea. The pawn shop owner only knows wall hangers. So it was priced accordingly. There are few specialists in this field. So the kid, unknowingly ends up with a real gem... but of course, he thinks the wall hangers are gems.

Best scenario I've got.

or maybe he bought it for 500+ bucks. kids have way too much money these days :D

You guys spend a lot of energy discussing the stupidest details.

There is so much more that could be discussed but lets focus is on the origin of a sword instead......

REALLY?

I hate to be mean but I guess simple people discuss simple issues.

Simply Put.

I must agree, it's a comic guys, and a One off to tie in the Comic and the TV Show. A teenager wrongly displaying swords would be pretty much right. BTW, a 440 stainless steel blade would be more than adequate to lop a Zombie head off IMHO. I've got a Marto (Not UC) Connor Macleod Katana that would slice and dice these suckers no problem.

BTW, How about a Thank You for the Comic in the first place? In the downfall of civilization, manners is the first thing to go. :lol

By all means enlighten us with a complex discussion regarding a fantasy show about a Zombie Apocalypse. We are all waiting.

Sure, first few heads, maybe. But it wouldn't last long, like the dumb ass sales guy who broke a wall hanger katana while smacking it on a table on live television and when it broke, instead of flexing like a real one would have, the blade flipped around and stabbed him in the gut. The blade was more dangerous to him than would have been to a walker. That's where the issue with Michonne's sword comes in, it needs to be more than a wall hanger and that's not common.

You do realize I posted the 6 page comic, a day before it even came right? Back on 03/19/12 post #1409

My point? Don't be that guy who fishes for compliments when you werent even the first to post it. ;) :)

Check this out guys, it was no problem really!:thumbsup

With regards to the blade, it should be noted that I would have been the kid with a combat ready katana many moons ago if I hadn't set my priorities straight. And that flesh is rotten so I think clean cuts are simple tasks.

I just hope they can bring up the twisted details of the prison I've heard so much about.

Remember how in the episode, Rick cut the zombie up with an ax and they smeared zombie blood and guts over Rick and Glenn? Remember how it kept the zombies from noticing Rick and Glenn as they walked down the street until it began raining and washed the blood and guts off?

As I read this I had to laugh at Rick's group being surprised at hearing they all have some type of zombie virus?? People on this show have been very sloppy in handling their walking dead.. :)

something i realized just now: rick KNOWS that the dead will turn, if their brains arent destroyed
yet still, he kills shane, and doesnt crush his head. whats the point of that?

Why is the TRAILER being discussed when the SEASON is OVER?

LOL!!!

MYAAAAAH BRAAAAAAINS!!!!!

Great show. Though I haven't read the comics... and no I don't want to till the show is over.

I'm worried it's about to go supernatural voodoo etc. on us....

DON'T TELL ME!!!! LOL!

It's something from the comic, dude. It's what Kirkman designed in the writing of the comic that carried over into the show. In fact, the whole "we're all infected" also comes from the comic too, and guess what, it didn't matter if you were covered in zombie blood or not, you still came back. Shane, in the comic, got killed, and he was never shown killing a zombie in the same upclose and splattering method seen in the show.

Rick in the show, himself, stated he wasn't sure if Jenner was right or not (since he was acting a bit unstable). And before, there was no human killed through another method that allowed for it to occur. So, Rick was never sure until Carl took him out. Not to mention the fact that he had just killed his best friend, a man he knew almost all of his life. If you were in Rick's position, where you've known Shane for years, and you had to kill him, don't you think you'd be emotionally distraught and not be able to think straight at that moment?

Besides, it's different in the comics. The whole CDC thing was never featured in the comics. Shane's death took place much earlier in the comic's timeline (when they were still at the Atlanta camp). It was in Volume 3: Safety Behind Bars, where Rick found out that they're all infected when two characters who died not by zombie (one from a gunshot wound, the other by strangling) resurrected without being bitten. As a result of this discovery, Rick travelled back to the Atlanta camp, dug Shane half way up and a zombie Shane dug himself up the rest of the way and climbed out of the grave. Rick then shot him in the head, and left him out of the grave.

I just listened to Kirkman on Aisha Tyler's podcast "Girl On Guy" and while he was very entertaining (he sounds a lot like David Koechner), his explanation of the guts/smell deal was pretty weak. The gist of it was that zombies, not possessing superhuman olfactory senses, don't smell fresh flesh; they smell "the absence of rotting." :confused

I'm sticking with the show. The season had some weak moments but the climax of the bar scene was definitely the highlight for me. And when the "mysterious hooded figure" showed up, I thought, "F yeah." I'm OK with that kind of "twisted reality" because if left to our own devices (or given enough money), who of us wouldn't act out some fantasies? After the ZA, the world will become one giant cosplay arena.

I can understand why Herschel didn't want to do it, but if it had been my farm, I'd have spent my time digging a moat around the property. Not sure where I'd find pitch to put in it, though...

Sweeping pot shots just like that have gotten others banned from this board. Just saying.

Actually the most pointless thing to do is to come in and only make a post to insult other members, and contribute absolutely nothing yourself.
