The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

I thought the emotional tension of the episode was pretty good. I wish Michael Raymond James were kept on. It was a waste of a great actor. He would have made a great "Governor".

Laurie's an idiot. Driving around "half-******" on back roads she doesn't know, looking for a town she's never been to, while reading a map that is upside down.

Okay, so despite him being accurate, who else was annoyed by Dale's leap of logic about Shane sacrificing Otis?

Shane hasn't been "vague" about what went down that night. He just conveniently left out the fact that the reason Otis 'sacrificed himself' to make sure Shane got away with the equipment Herschel needed for Carl was because Shane put a couple bullets in him.

The best rationale i could come up with to excuse the 'out of character information' Dale was using was that he doesn't like Shane and is intent on seeing him in the worst possible light. Still, that doesn't explain the mental gymnastics he had to perform to spout off to Lori about Shane shooting Otis. It would've been more believable if he'd said he believed Shane left Otis behind without specifying that Shane shot Otis.

Totally agree with you on that when Dale was spilling his guts I said the writers dropped the ball on that scene unless Dale had a crystal ball how could he have beenso accurate in his accusation.

I was just reading an interview with Andrew Lincoln and apparently what Jenner told Rick in the CDC wasn't just gibberish. Noah Emmerich who played Jenner actually whispered the secret into Andrew Lincoln's ear. I guess no one knows what it is, Lincoln won't even tell his wife haha.

I'd say it has something to do with the reason Rick shot that guy in the head, after he killed him. He wouldn't do it for spite. I like that theory from earlier - everyone is infected. But you have to either be bitten or killed for the symptoms to manifest.

I agree, that makes great sense. It would seem to follow what happened in the comic between Rick and Shane.

Yeah, I'd say that the secret is that they're all infected and Jenner only told Rick because he's probably the most level headed of the bunch and he doesn't want to freak everyone out. Jenner probably took blood from everyone initially to see if anyone might be immune, not if they were infected.

I actually think Jenner whispered to Rick "your going to bore everyone when you get to the farm" and Rick was reacting to being cancelled.

A theory I read on another site made mention of Dale possibly being a Vietnam vet. The line "I've seen guys like him before" could be an allusion to having battlefield experience, as does his love of boonie hats and marksmanship with a bolt action rifle. Granted, it's a stretch, but it would explain his suspicions/dislike of Shane.

I can buy Dale as a disillusioned Vietnam vet... but I guess I'm not seeing how that would play into him making such a huge leap of logic.

I don't get this disagreement. Dale has SEEN Shane about to kill Rick for the simple reason he was a threat to his recent dominance among the group. Shane nearly beat a man to death in their own camp. Shane was behaving very oddly when he got back and Otis didn't come back. He seemed disoriented and didn't really have a clear story of what happened until later that you could see on his face how he filled in details of his story as he described what happened to fit his needs. Then Shane pretty much threatened to KILL Dale in the swamp.

Is it a big leap of logic to say that Shane killed Otis, or used Otis to make sure he got away? No, not at all. Dale clearly stated he has no proof, only that he has a strong feeling to that effect.

This isn't bad writing, this is the gut instinct of a man with a lifetime of experiences and some very specific experiences with a man that has been on the edge of murder several times.

There's no infection, Jenner couldn't have said everyone is infected because they never found a bacteria or virus or anything causing the dead to rise. He MIGHT have said that regardless of how people die, barring massive head trauma, they will rise from the dead and become walkers, but saying they're all infected suggests Jenner found the cause, which they never did.

I think you nailed it right there.
