I got some good work done on the inner thighs then got interested in roughing in the loin cloth. Let me no what ya'll think.

I think this is a little different than anything I've seen.
It's very rough right now.

Ahhhh very cool man i am digging the face I can't wait to see where this goes well i better get home i have a gun mount and backpack to set in silicone the front loin armor is cool looking but i am telling you it is gonna be a bitch to wear the pants if you don't have and area to move in. But hey you figure it out !

I see many of you have been checking in on the build. I appreciate that. I was thumbing threw the AVP Making of book from ADI and decided to google one of the concept artist that was featured. His name is Carlos Huante. He is awesome by the way. I think I am going to use some of his designs that were not used in the film. I believe since I won't be selling anything he will be ok with it. So here are a couple of his concepts and what I intend to do with them.

This is Carlos, If you google him you will be in for a treat.

This is one of his concept pages that was not in the ADI book.I thought the top helmet would
be perfect for Topknot even though I already did a helmet for him.

I know it looks a little out there but here is a quick sketch an maquette I did of the helmet.
I just wanted to see how it looked in 3-d. It was quick so don't look at it to harshly.

This is another one of Carlos's concepts that I had never seen before. I thought it was a beautifully done cannon and mount.
I have been toying with some ideas but I think this one that Carlos did I would like to build.

I quick sketch of my idea's for it's use.

OK that's all I just wanted to share these idea's. Let me know what you think. Thanks for lookin.
I'm back to the thighs and loin cloth.

That's some really cool designs, I have the AVP-R ADI book, and it has some similar designs. But yeah, I'd like to see that on a suit!

Eli

Wow, I am in awe. You have raised the bar in how much detail can be put into a suit, just the legs alone are up to the level of insane. Can't wait to see what you sculpt for the upper body....

~Henry~

Whoa! That looks amazing! Very creative idea for loin cloth, and the bio/head concept looks awesome! Can't wait to see what you do. :)

Since I am placing all the Topknot stuff over here now I thought I would repost the 2 Gauntlet builds in a condensed version.
Here is the forearm piece.

this was the original drive train for it made with a futabi PLASTIC gear box which proved to be totally inadiquate.

This was the look I thought I wanted then. It changed a couple times. The small blades were spring loaded and popped up on the way out.
attachedpopups007.jpg

I decided on this motor from a power window mechanism. It worked well but it was heavy.
gauntpopblade008.jpg

Then came the side mounted blade. I figured I had the chain and it traveled if 2 directions why not have a blade come out the back. I will tell you  why not, because in the end the whole thing was way to big and bulky.

I used these 2 lead acid 6 volts to run it.

this was the first mold I made of the piece to have something to sculpt the housing on. I ended up doing something different.

I ended up disigning different blades. I wanted something that looked more tactical.

Housing cast in Smooth-on Shell shock whiched sucked by the way. I will never use that stuff again for molds or pieces.

I had to cut it apart to make it fit.

I eventually decided this was just to big and blocky looking so I started on a new and improved version.
This is the gear head with a right angle gear box. This is a much lighter and more compact yet still very powerful.

I liked the looks of the original housing so much I decided to cut it up and use what I could for the new one.

I placed all the parts I could use and sculpted in between.

I am in awe over everything... this build screams of dedication and attention to detail, its incredible.    :D

Is this the first time you have build anything of this size or have you done it before (I know you have an old predator suit before this one, but anything else)? And how tall do you think you will be when everything is done and you're suited up?

So I did some old school molding on the lion cloth.
Here's the box bold. I placed clay for keys incase I decide to do a two piece and do some texture on the back.

I poured it in Skin Flex which was getting old so we will see if it cures ok. I vacuumed it first.

Hopefully I will pull it out tomorrow. We'll see.

Hopes it cures ok
Im starting a new suit soon, yuors its giving me motivation to get back on the predator game once again ;)

So I pulled the Skin flex loin cloth. It turned ok but I'm not completely satisfied with how the material feels. I spoke to ptgreek last night for a little advise. I have to dip my toe into the silicone pool soon anyway so I ordered some Dragonskin and some tints to do the lion cloth over in that. Here are a couple of shots of the Skin flex.
