The stormtroopers from Spaceballs

Hello gang,

Though not for DragonCon 2012 (the 3 Amigo's were just too much fun and we are doing them again), my friends and I are going to attempt to do another group costume for DragonCon 2013......Dark Helmet and two Stormtroopers from Spaceballs. I'm having a bit of trouble finding good reference material outside of plugging in the movie.

I think I've isolated a source for the helmet (no problem there), but its the rest of the suit. So, I'm throwing it out there to the brilliant and genius minds of the RPF......suggestions on sources components for the suit?

I love the butt cheek plates in this armor. Too funny.

The butt cheek plates are the driving force behind one member of this little trio.......not me. We are looking through materials now. Overall, the suit isn't that bad. I'm thinking silver catsuit with some black vinyl patches on the whole thing. The tough part will be the armor in general and the gun.

Gun issue solved. We've isolated a Calico M100 rifle that we are able to mold and cast. This should be pretty good. I'll put up some pictures if possible of this process. I was really not looking forward to sculpting this thing from foam, wood and plastic. Flip the sights on it and I'm done. Three Spaceball trooper rifles, coming up......now, to get over to The Engineer Guy and purchase some silicone.
