Working on the additional bag strap. It's only briefly seen when Quill is first traversing Morag.

I used a magnetic clasp to secure it to the front strap. I still have no idea how it attaches to the bag on the back side. It has to be a quick release system. I might go for some kind of dual carabiner. I think there are additional rivets on this strap as well. I was just barely able to make them out. I've isolated the strap below as I see it:

Do you guys agree?

Yes it hooks onto a D-ring, but with what kind of clasp? You have a D-ring on the bag, and a D-ring on the end of the strap, but you need something to connect the two. It needs to remain removable.

So here is the solution I ended up going with to connect the additional strap:

Instead of adding a D-ring on the end I used a brass snap hook. I think it turned out pretty good. Here are a few more pics of it attached to the bag:

OK, finally finished with this commissioned Star Lord knapsack!

I lightly distressed the whole bag and dyed the leather darker on the main flap and other parts to give it overall continuity. I'm really happy with how it turned out:

Here it is below my original bag:

Soul did you build this on top of the original ebay shoulder bags? Which did you find better? There was one from China and the other I think was coffee xolor?

No, I drew up my own templates. In the long run I decided it would just be easier to sew it up from scratch. I might still try to convert the khaki bag I posted earlier in this thread to look similar to this, just to see if it can be done. But I think it might up taking the same amount of time and effort, if not more.
