The Six Million Dollar Man set

I know PH got the set for Christmas like I did, but is anyone else going through them? If you make the mental conversion to 70s TV, this show is great! Just as I remember them when I was a kid.

I can't think of any current adventure show I like as much, except maybe Lost and Fringe. I can't believe this stuff was ever on in prime time.

But every time I see the beginning, I can't help but hear the titles from Heat Vision and Jack in my head. :)

YES!
Love The Six Million Dollar Man!

I haven't picked up this set yet, Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
Been watching the whole first season on Bootleg DVD'S I picked up several years ago.

I even got to meet Lee Majors and Andre the Giant(original bigfoot)!

I would recomend, if you can, Picking up the original Novel, "Cyborg" by Martin Caidin ..an excellent read. It's what they based the Six Million Dollar Man on!

Loved the show as a kid; too bad the DVD set is so expensive. I watched an episode or two a while back and it was very cheesy; much more then I remembered. That is my hesitation in getting the set (because of the price). How is the cheese factor? Hopefully it was just the particular episodes that I watched.

No, there is a massive amount of cheese; that's what I meant with my "make the mental conversion to 70s TV" statement. But if you put yourself back into that area of expectation you had when you were a kid... "just show me something cool" ... you'll like this set.

As with most shows, the First season is the Best.

A lot of thought went into the show, believe it or not.

For example, the first season opener, Population zero, When Austin is running at the end of the episode, he only sweats from his Human Parts:lol

The Right arm and legs(His Bionic parts), remain dry...

Little things like that add to the coolness factor.

They mention that in the first pilot; in that he doesn't have to work so hard as he's just a torso and an arm.

Ok Larry you talked me into it; well almost, lol. I went ahead and picked up season 1 (non bootleg, apparently some enterprising individuals have bought the Time-Life sets and are selling them by seasons). I'll give it a try and then get the rest if they live up to my expectations. Thanks for the "cheesy" pep-talk. :)

I may have to get this set. I grew up with repeats on sundays after a few episodes of Big Valley lol.

It's pretty expensive, for what it is, man. I got it for Christmas, and as much as I love it, I'd have been hard-pressed to get it for my own self.

I mean, it's awesome; but make sure you pay your bills first. :)

my parents loved this show....my original name was suppose to be col. steve austin......at the last minute they change the col steve to michael....kinda happy...i would have been called stone cold steve austin in grade school haha

It"s a great DVD box set. Finding the time to watch everything is the hard part. Definitely worth it for the true Six Million Dollar Man fan. Heck, I even bought an extra box set for my friend.

Got some eps on VHS, and have to agree with feek it was way cheesier than I remembered, and I was prepared for cheese. However, the ep with Shatner as the spaced-out astronaut was Great.
