I think it will be awesome because we do not see much on this trailer but what we see is that it will be emotional and something really new to us all... (y)

The Predator: Trash has arrived ...

Look at the paint job on the arm ... pathetic!

What spelled anyhing awesome in this trailer? Do the "emotional" parts fall in line with what a Pred film should be?
The shot of mun trying to protect the kid with a pistol from a Predator is just laughable. didn't they intentionally drop their weapons in the first movie to not get hunted? And a pistol is going to fend off a Predator?
What a pretty dumpster fire we got here ... smdh

I feel like too many people will be distracted by all the pretty lights, explosions, and gore to realize how ****** the plot is, especially in comparison to, you know, the first two films that kicked off a franchise.

Though I'll give props to Fred Decker for making this absolute **** show look cinematic.

Yeah, this first trailer was kinda lackluster. It doesn't look like it'll live up to first or second film, but I'll probably go into thinking that. I wasn't expecting much from Predators, but it was still just a fun action flick. I hope this at least can be that. The plot does sounds kind of stupid. "They're attempting hybridization?" What the **** does that mean?

I'll wait to see the movie or more trailers before judging the props and suit more, but I'll credit where credit is due, at least they actually went practical and still used a suit rather than CGI with the Alien franchise...

Also, how the hell did that kid just get a box full of fully-functioning Predator equipment?

I stopped asking questions about the kid, when the official plot synopsis mentioned that he "triggers" the return of the Predators.
The heat doesn't bring the demon who makes trophies of men, it's little kids playing with alien tech on Halloween that calls them.

It's difficult for me to enjoy something when most of the lore has been thrown out the window or altered to the point you just as well might throw it out a window. I may be able to "enjoy" it as I "enjoyed" AvP: R in a few years when a redux version is released but I had higher hopes for this film.
What good is a franchise when half of the films are ridiculous?

Can we all get back onto the old thread for posterity?

I didn't think much of it, but like the new biomask, and nice to see the AVP shiruken's return.

Overall, AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I am going to see it.

BENSIN, where are you on all this?

As for me I've been waiting for another Predator film to come. I have been hooked ever seeing Predator in 1987 after getting home from basic training at Paris Island. I like the trailer not gonna over analyze it, looks good and entertaining.

I had exactly the same look on my face as the kid in the trailer does, when I lifted my first bio from a cardboard box! (P1 stunt bio from George (PtGreek)). First view and its doesn't look too bad, I had low expectations mind.

For all the haters, it's a cash cow that they are going to pump till its dry. I'm over it. If watching it brings a new wave of members to the site (it has re-lit my fire) with new ideas and a thirst to make some bad ass costumes then Shane Black has done a good job for this community. I will welcome them whether they want to make a Beserker, Scar, Wolf or even one of the new ones.

Predator was a great movie, but as we all know would have been awful if Stan Winston didn't get involved. It was at the very heart of it, an 80s slasher movie with a bad ass killer. My main issue is that Predator should never have been a franchise. It is not a franchiseable plot, you just get shi*tty rehashes (Nightmare on elm street? Friday the 13th?).

As like with Predators, AVPR and AVP i'm going to spend my money at the cinema and watch it. Yes it may be turd, and I may not get 2 hours of my life back but I will be able to make my own opinion rather than base it off crap set shots, and a trailer.

We're going to get lots of people with various different opinions. As we age we're going to see a new breed of fans with vastly different opinions to the old school members, members that have been here for 5 years and so on. Some may even like these Hunters in comparison to the old hunters. Time goes on... things expand. It's like Star Wars, hate it or love it whether its the first trilogy or the second trilogy... there is something for everyone. If you don't like what's being shown in the trailer then that's okay, lots of people may share the exact same opinion in opposition there may be lots of people who don't share that opinion. Best to live and let live instead of pondering on ways to further diminish the franchise and to scare away potential new members who actually like look of these new hunters. Opinions do matter but there is a point where opinions can be deemed rather hostile and there's really no need for it. Let's wait until the movie comes out, hate it or love it we're going to see prop makers and cosplayers alike wearing suits that resemble these new characters and so the character/franchise... etc lives on.

I for one am excited about the new movie good or bad. The trailer alone reignited my itch for making Predator stuff. Great to still see familiar faces still here on the board.

I can pass them some comedy or bad props, but the two things I don't stand are the kid with the tech and the hybridisation thing, but you know what is the most annoying of all? That the director acted on p1!!
He could have made something like that since he lived thru the filming of the first one!and the yautja are suposed to be a culture based on honor of the hunt, what honor has to "hybridise" to hunt!?
I think that could be passable if they say the ones hybridising are the rogues or super predators only, but if it is the whole yautja culture,I'll just consider this film non-cannonical.

Share your opinion:)

As much as I disliked the trailer , I have to admit that I smiled when the original bio appeared on screen, even if it was just displayed on a wall.
About the new predators, I really don´t know how to explain it, but based on the photos and the trailer they seem to have too much of an advanced-futuristic look (too clean and perfect) that makes them kind of generic looking and gets too far from the technologically advanced but trival look of the predators we have seen so far.

I suppose a lot does depends on your age like Wreav said. They are pretty stuck to be fair. Which fan/age group do you cater for when the BossMan says 'make me a new predator movie'. Which ever way they turn they cannot satisfy them all. If they made something like the original then it is remaking an 80s classic. If they make something new, enticing and packed full of tech for the younger generation then it is too far removed from the original.

There will never be a movie that satisfies everyone. That is why when I watch them at the cinema, I try to enjoy it rather than analysing it and find fault/criticse every scene.

If all members here got together to advise Fox on the the next movie, and SWS did the practical effects we still would not agree on the final movie despite us all having a huge passion for a movie monster that has spanned 3 decades. As we all want something different to fill our version of the Predator.

I'll watch it when it comes out and comment further.
