The One Ring?

Now, I've always wanted a nice, accurate copy of the One Ring from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, either with or without the lettering on the band, but preferably with. I'm interested in the following criteria:

1. The ring is of fairly good quality.
2. The ring looks accurate to the movie ring in both size and proportions. (IE, the band is the right thickness, etc.)
3. The lettering (if there's any) is properly sized on the band and is accurate to the movie engraving.

I know the Jens Hansen Ring is by far the best way to go, but there's no way I'm spending that kind of money. What's the best One Ring replica on a budget not exceeding $50.00 US?

Thanks

You might be interested in The One Ring produced by Evita/Movie Premiums. It's an official licensed product. I was on a One Ring frenzy a few years back and collected a few (including some terrible gold-tone versions). What I love about the Evita version is that the inscription is nicely engraved and detailed, plus it fits well within your budget (I paid around SGD50 years back, that's USD38 now). The gold plating is rather well done, I've worn it several times and the colour hasn't turned. Size wise, I believe it's a 10. Here's a photo:

The chain is my own silver chain, the ring came bundled had fine links that looked too fragile to wear.

They also made a unique "UV" version that has the inscription painted red and it glows under UV light. Quite interesting (when it is under UV light that is) but I can't seem to take a good photo...

There are one or two Ebay sellers that offer great replicas of the ring that are NOT the licensed version that are more closely matched to the Jens Henson rings and you can get them with our without the lettering.
There was even a seller at one point that offerd a ring that when heat was applied to it, the lettering would 'magically' appear.
Take your time and look around.

Frosty, you don't happen to have the seller names, do you? Or a link to that heat reveal ring?

I'm going to order the chain myself here soon. I was going to get this ring, but I'm actually trading in an old solid 15.9 oz nugget ring to melt down into the One Ring. There's enough gold, since I'm going by the true specs of what apparently was used for the real item (yes, there are multiple versions, but I'm going with the size 11, 7mm wide, 2.33mm thick). It should end up being about 50 bucks when the few chip diamonds are sold back from the nugget ring, as well as some of the extra gold. But if I didn't have this ring to work with, I'd certainly purchase the one on e-bay. I hope to have the ring before January 20th.

Cheers,

Guy

P.S. Mine doesn't have inscriptions on it, which I personally don't like. There isn't a clean enough inscription for my liking, and since it by all account should glow, everything else just doesn't seem right to me. I equate the One Ring with the scene where Boromir picks it up and gives it back to Frodo when they're trying to cross the Misty Mountains. Ironically, that One Ring was a huge version for the camera. lol

EDIT: I plan on putting this mini version of the page Gandalf finds with the inscription in a shadowbox, with the ring hanging to the right of it. It's my way of getting around the inscription issue for me.

Awesome reproduction of the page, I am always impressed by that stuff.

Thanks. It was really easy. Laser printer on parchment paper, then age with tea and lemon + heat. I'm trying to get past my OCD on the fact that the print is not straight....lol
