Thank you allosaur176!!! :cheers

Thank you James Kenobi!!!:cheers
I really appreciate your warm words.

Dear Gino, I guess you´ll never get the point. You can call it whatever you want: you didn´t sculpt it. I can imagine all your phone calls, sketches and all those things quite well, because I did the same on some other Star Wars projects. For example I did the same on all of Jespers (JRX) Star Wars busts. I overviewed them several times a week and coached him (I call it: a bit). I also helped him with the the details, facial expressions, corrected it via Photoshop and in person, gave him reference pictures and my sculpting tools. Even if he lives "around the corner" and I had been at his place IN PERSON very often, we had telephone calls about his progress. This doesnt´t make me lazier than you. The difference was that I hadn´t to communicate over the continents. Maybe it was a little cheaper to me then. But - in case of the actual petrol prices maybe not...

I come to the point: I will never say, that my part was equally big as his was, as you do with your projects. Because I think THE SULPTOR himself - here Jesper - should receive the applause. I never spoke about my part on the JRX busts like you keep doing on your 3 projects. Maybe only sculptors do understand the problem I have with you. I don´t know. But I guess you have no clue how much work sculpting a lifelike face is. That is the reason why you never took hands on such a project yourself, I´m sure. And when you think you can learn everything you should start sculpting pretty soon. I started sculpting movie and Disney characters, as well as my own ones, with the age of 7.
I guess it is useless to explain all this to you. You don´t understand. Otherwise you would have never said that you did 50 % of the bust/head work. Better for me to jump into the praising crowd and say:
Perfect, well done, the best I have ever seen, your the man of the Universe and did every tiny detail all the way alone.
Or shall I even sing it to you? :lol
Besides (again): I really respect you because of your very good researching- and imitation skills of the Star Wars prop details.
But that´s all from my point of view.

Allosaur: Thank you for bringing my thread back to topic. I wish it will stay there.

Here are some photos of my ANH mask. Like the other TM helmet owners I have an agreement with Vadermania and Jesper not to show details of the upper faceplate. Please don´t ask me for:

I also did all the other TM Vader casts.

...Thank you Sithlord, Thank you Kev Vader. It´s nice to know that you like what you see.
So you think the chestbox is a direct ANH cast?...

That would be really interesting to know...
Looks like a sharp casting but a bit wobbled though. Maybe like the real one was???

Any Vaderexperts around?

Hi Stilgar. I agree, that would be interesting.
Hm, the wobbles appeared directly in this cast. It wasn´t as wobbled in the movie itself. The mould must have been too soft. That´s it.
I had this direct cast and made the chestbox on my Vader, where I corrected another cast of it, I had. I later added buttons coinslots and so on separtely after reshaping.

Guys....

I've been reading this thread as its deteriorated off topic and you've both been bringing me into the argument and I am beginning to find it increasingly annoying that my name is being used and me being used as a tool against eachother... I refuse to be drawn into this myself so I would appreciate it if you would both edit your posts that relate to me and go back onto what was originally being discussing. I'm not a weapon to be used against eachother. I don't want to fall out with either of you guys so please do the descent thing and delete any mention of my name.

THANKS!

Phil

Hi Cyberman, I mentioned your name one time, but tried to keep it not specified. Besides: Gino had someone else who sculpted his first Emperor head. Sorry that you feel like you do. You are very kind. Gino and I don´t have any serious war. Not from my point of view. I´m only arguing that I don´t like how he sees things and his behaviour. No serious thing at all to me. If it is to you: sorry, I erased your name immediately. Take care.

Re: The first(?) complete custom made lifesize ANH Vader - new pics added on side 5

If you want to know about the chestbox Jorg.

The cast is derived from a screen source, like the DPS cast and many other varients around.

It has the same warpage to the coins, the smaller lights and the thinner rods as many of these cast off's have. The shape of the actual box is not consistent as the other screen varients are. So yes, it is cast off screen but it is a flawed example. The fingerprints IMO are also not necessarily screen accurate and although the cast has many imperfections clearly present, some are missing.

There are many of these casts around but most are more accurate but nevertheless it is still nice :thumbsup.

Warm Regards

Trap Joe, for what it's worth, yours is the best lifesize ANH Vader piece I have seen to date, and I've seen quite a few. Keep the the great work. :thumbsup

Re: The first(?) complete custom made lifesize ANH Vader - new pics added on side 5

That TM looks fantastic. Not as clean (too clean) as most of the other helmets. Beside Thomas SL the TM is the:love best ANH imo.

Hi Christian. Wow, thank you!!! No, you didn´t miss a ROTJ and ROTS.
I made two Vaders at one time which are a mixture of ESB and ROTJ. I will show you in another thread. The photos where I showed the hands without gloves are their bodies.
I´m not a too big fan of the ROTS Vader. So unfortunately I have to say that I´m not plannig to make one. Maybe one ROTS reveal mask sometimes. But I don´t think so. I´d rather prefer doing a ESB reveal mask, when Lucasfilm will release some better reference pictures of this good piece.
Does anyone know where it disappeared after the shooting of ESB? I also love the Vader stunt mask with the the clear jawpiece and "cheekbones"
Someone here did some really beautiful ones. If I only knew who it was I would ask him to buy one of his beauties.

You are too kind Funky Jedi :$ I will. Thanks a lot!!!

Thank you Darth Niob!!! The TM helmet has so many "dirty", crappy details in the cast already, that I also wanted them to be visible in the finished Helmet. I will also wheather the rest of the ANH suit. But this will be when I have enough ESB parts to transform him completely into ESB, Because I think I can´t watch the almost rotten look on the ANH too long. I agree with you: the TM helmets are one of the nicest Vader helmets. To me as well. They are one of my favourite parts in my collection.

Re: The first(?) complete custom made lifesize ANH Vader - new pics added on side 5

Great photos of the finished TM helmet, and a nice chestbox collection.

Well, Gino and I have had our differences before as well but also at one point we had here a head-to-head competition between parts of our ANH Vader suits with many comparisons. That was actually a lot of fun for me. We would try to match angles of our suits with screen captures or behind the scene still photographs, for example. I guess what I am saying is that it would be more interesting to compare the suits rather than argue about how they were made. The devil is in the details. Of course each suit has its own merits, or weaknesses. But I know that this thread is just about your own suit so I'm very much enjoying the photos you show...along with the other treats in the background...:)

Hi Sithlord,

Thank you!!!:cheers
I have seen your threads. Your Chestbox is great!
As long as these competitions serves the purpose that our beloved Vader become better it´s a positive thing. And as long as nobody on one side is broken or forgotten it´s even better. From my opinion: it should be fun! Otherwise it would become a consuming obsession. And this doesn´t feel right. I know that all too well from making my 300 Star Wars figures. I nearly passed out at one point. I had to learn a lesson back then.

I love your ANH Vadermask as well. It´s great.

Here are some pictures I made in 2004 that show three Vaders I made for me and a friend where you can see some of the different poses that are possible with my dummies:

Re: The first(?) complete custom made lifesize ANH Vader - new pics added on side 5

This Vader line-up is total coolness!

I assume you make those mannequins yourself.
They seem to be poseable but sturdy enough to carry the weight of a full vader gear, right?!
Could you tell us a bit about their build-up, please. Or yo you have a tutorial they are based on?

Re: The first(?) complete custom made lifesize ANH Vader - new pics added on side 5

Really nice work, the best i've seen on here, very well done
