This is one I've wanted to do forever, and finally dove in headfirst this past week. The plan is to do some of these cast in pewter. I starter with a 1/8" styrene base, and sculpted on top with epoxy putty. Sculpted, waited, carved, sculpted, waited, carved, sculpted, waited, sanded, etc., etc. Until was happy with the final shape, and size of the scarab. I just put a coat of primer on to see where I'm at with the final surface texture and saying I happy would honestly be an understatement.
