The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask "Mask"

Hey guys,

I'm considering making the "Majora's Mask" from the Zelda game of the same name. Before I start building, is there any readily available masks to buy out there, or possibly a tutorial to make one? I did a search and came up with nothing.

(Ref.: Skull Kid from Majora's Mask, wearing said mask).

Has anyone attempted making it before? I think I'll be making it wearable. What would be the best method to create it?

I was at anime expo a few weeks ago, and some-one was the majora's mask character. I'm not an anime fan, just went to see the robot chicken pannel. When I gwet home, I will upload a photo.

Thanks, that could help, actually.

Thanks, bud. It looks on the small side, but I should be able to enlarge it, that could be a good starting point.

I thought about making that one, made this instead:

I had to custom make the pattern for it, you could do the same with that mask. Leather is a great medium for masks if you know the tricks. I think you could get some great results by making the papercraft mask, fiberglassing it, and then wet forming the leather over it. Then you could carve the pattern into it and dye/paint it.

I found the photos of the majora's mask guy.

I will upload them here. If you like, pm me your email address, and I will email them to you.

Ah, the Mask of Truth. That's brilliant, and thanks for the advice, I could give leather a go. I might start on that tomorrow.

Those photos look great, seeing someone cosplay as him really shows how the character would look in real life. PM sent.

Cool mask. I see the stitching near the bottom middle. Did you use leather?

Im assuming its just for show, bc I dont see any eye openings?

No eyeholes, it hangs on ribbon and is fully wearable, you just can't see where you're going.

try making a wire frame from any normal, thickish craft wire and placing mod rock over the top till you have a couple of lairs. I am also thinking of making this mask and that is what i am currently using as a method. hope this helps :)

I'm not sure if your still looking but you should check out my blog:

Bound Clock Props

I'm just starting out in the prop making world but I have a full write up on my blog about how i made my mask. I would eventually like to sell a couple castings.
