That closed position looks like it will bite into your foot something awful. You need room for the foot to move and the ankle to roll.

Just doing some tweaking to the paper templates... GOD I HOPE IT TURNS OUT AS GOOD AS PAPER, WHEN I TRANSFER IT TO STEEL...

The top part is Mark VI, bottom is Mark III, and the boot is my custom-made version of the Mark III's.

will be interesting to see how it transfers to metal....
 
The PATELLA, a.k.a. KNEE CAP:

The answer is no. I have done the test fitting, and it actually rests BELOW my PATELLA.

Im still able to do metal work, just not welding, so today I cut a few of the bars for the shin cage.

(but have to wait until December to weld it)

To anyone out there wanting a Collapsible Armor, I made this GIF and called the armor "Snake Plating", based on how a snake's scales over-lap, and are RIGID, yet FLEXIBLE.

- Good idea for the top of elbow, and back of knee sections of the Suit.
