The Hobbit - starts filming March 21

from theonering.net:

Elijah Wood has confirmed that the first trailer for The Hobbit will debut in front of The Adventures of Tintin in the US. The Happy Feet Two star, who will reprise his role as Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings prequels, admitted that he hasn’t yet seen the teaser footage.

“I have not seen it. I have spoken to people about the trailer, I have a sense of what’s going to be in it, he told Digital Spy. “I think it’s going to be in front of Tintin when it’s released in the States.” The Adventures of Tintin, which is produced by The Hobbit’s Peter Jackson, will open in US cinemas on December 21.

I wonder how much of a "teaser" it will be?

And do I understand correctly - is the "bridge" movie going to come out BEFORE "There and back again, a Hobbit's tale." ???

There is no "bridge" anymore, that idea was scrapped years ago. It's just the story, embellished with details from LOTR and other Tolkien sources, told over two films.

From my understanding - There and back again will be a movie based on The Hobbit book, and the other movie will bridge T.A.B.A. and F.O.T.R. based on Tolkien sources, and unpublished (?) stories.

Yeah.. that was the original idea about two years ago. They're not doing that anymore, it's just one big movie now, split into two parts.

interesting. I've been keeping up over on theonering.net, and also following AICN's guy over there and don't remember reading anything about it being the one story split into two movies?

Damn, I must have missed something, somewhere along the line.

STILL - this will possibly be the last movies in my lifetime that I will be counting down the days until they are released!

I just hope the stuff I was lucky enough to read, see and watch is still part of Pete's vision.

We'll see, I guess?
