The greatest Invention since Yoodling

Nice bump. Now, just need to find a polycrylic subsitute from UK hardware stores.

been looking Burnt.

Mav recommend something call BEROL MARVIN MEDIUM.

i have however contacted Monstermakers to see how much shippin will be to the UK for some proper permawet, ill let you know if i get a reply.

Right, the Marvin Medium is good, but I've been looking into polycylic for some time mixing with prosaide to provide a flexible base for it so it doesn't crack. you can get Poly-C from www.rcworld.co.uk/acatalog/Poly_C.html they use it as an alternative to epoxie sealer for fibreglass models. Also have been think about testing an acylic water based floor varnish by ronseal called diamond hard, though I think ronseal have rebadged the polycrylic they used to get shipped over here to something like Floorsealer XL .

One of the best things about Permawet is its elasticity. It stretches with the latex, which is very important when putting on a mask or suit. Im not sure that the other clears where meant to be stretched, and would cause the paint to crack and eventually peel.

That's what the pros aide is for, it gives the acylic clear coat the needed elasticity. Not too sure if they will eventually peel or not, but as you know Mel I'm not after really permanent solutions for my costumes as most will be trashed during filming. Marvin Medium though I believe will have the need stretch as I was pointed towards it as a fabric glue among other things. Fabric glues require a latitude of stretch as most fabrics flex. Hope this helps some of the UK'ers in their search for a shiney finish.

Marvin Medium is certainly a back-up for me. I'm just concerned about it's tendency to go milky if made wet again (thinking of UK weather here). If monstermakers get back with shipping of perma-wet to the UK, I'll certainly be in for getting some. Maybe UK peeps need to get togther for a bulk order to help with the shipping costs?
