Check this out.

A while back i spread the love that this product.
PolyCrylic water based stuff was perfect as a subsitute for PERMA WET.

BUT after using it on a few different pieces i found it cracked over time. SO it got shelved.

UNTIL i just recently decided to try and use it again as i had no perma wet to finish up a paintjob and no plastidip either.

SO.....

I combined Monster Makers Pros-adhesive and the Polycrylic.

TO FORM

Perma Wet. I am like 98% sure that this is what monster makers uses when they sell it by the bottle.
It looks smells and paints sprays covers and protects just like PERMA WET.

AND!!!!!!!!!!! The kicker is...

the polycrylic comes in different SHENES. (shineyness)
It comes in Satin, Matte, Gloss and a bunch of other different finishes. SO if you dont want ur mask to be SHINY all over u can use the different finishes to get the look you want.

MIXTURE: I mix it 1/2 and 1/2. That seems to work great and not crack at all. Sprays AWESOME TOO!
(you can add some alcohol to thin it a lil, it didnt hurt it when i added some)

AVAILABLE: Pro-adhesive at MONSTERMAKERS.com and POLYCRYLIC available at HOMEDEPOT.
Both are VERY CHEAP when u consider the amount of PERMA WET you are making and NOT BUYING.

Good deal. Great find man, that is going to help me a LOT.

Now I just need a predator.

Yes great find, and thanks MEANGENE83 for sharing that with the lair.

very educational. i have a question , that monster makers adhesive, is that like a special product or you think its the same ass the adhesive bottle that they sell like at miachels for that is like a sealer . its usualy near the acrylic paints and the sealers and adhesives.

i have never checked out that micheals "sealer" stuff as you called it before.

I will look into it tho.

BTW the MONSTERMAKERS pro adhesive is equal to the PROSAIDE we all spend too much money on.

Monstermakers pro adhesive is far less pricey. a real bargain.
also to get the best prices on latex buy from FXWAREHOUSE.net

Sweet, thanks for the info. Now I can make my own perma wet rather than buy it.

OMG! Gene DOES have more than one brain cell!!!!!

I'm totally amazed and shocked, BUT ...... great idea on the chemical combo!

Genes mixing chemicals....

be afraid.. be VERY afraid

I also have a meth lab out back if anyone is interested in any new drug types i developed.....

Goodluck with this stuff. Experiment with it, IT WON'T CRACK try it for yourself.

DIY Perma Wet. Someone get this boy a labcoat and some test tubes, heaven knows what the boy genius will come up with next Nice one Gene and thanks for sharing the info it'll save a lot of people like me who can't get it a whole lot of hassle kudos bro'. Now back to the lab you slacker

I so trieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed to tell you the poly cracked when you turned this idea on to me, I shelved it to. Now big question here. Perma wet plus paint = sticky mask right? The reason it's not sticky anymore is because we seal that with perma wet. Now being that your making perma wet with poly and pros aide when it dries is it sticky becuae your sealer to seal the sticky pros is actually made out of the sticky pros aide. Make since?

So when mixed with Polycrylic the pros aide still stays sticky?

"The greastest Invention since Yoodling?" Fumes getting to ya, bro? It's Yodeling. Anyway, you've contributed another great assist to the Lair, vunderbar. In answer to whether or not anyone's tried the gloss sealer at Michael's stores, I have. It will crack on flexible parts, so I wouldn't recommend it. So go with Uncle Gene's world famous Perma Sheen!

Kevin, your post made no sense whatsoever.
I knew this stuff cracked back in the day after a few times using it.

As for this being sticky? The mixture dries with absolutely no TACKYNESS at all. It is not sticky. It works perfect.
Does that make since?
