The Goon

There's a pretty awesome comic out there called The Goon by Eric Powell. If you haven't read it, it's basically a story about Goon and Franky, two guys working for the Mobster Labrazio. It's sort of like Hellboy meets the untouchables.

Anyways, Eric Powell along with David Fincher (Yes, THAT David Fincher) have been trying the last couple years to get the movie made. There is test footage on YouTube and it looks awesome.

They have a kick starter page up right now for them to get a full Story Reel financed along with helping to pay Paul Giomatti and Clancy Brown to voice their respective characters.

Either way you should check out the test footage and if you like that, you should definitely check out the comics.

I hope the $107,000 in 3 days is a good sign that they'll reach their goal before the deadline.

Crap, I haven't read the Goon in forever. A roommate showed me an issue about 8 years ago or so, and I loved it. Totally forgot about it! I'll definitely go back and check out the issues I've missed.

Also, the test footage looks awesome.
