"The Feet" with lifts and foam filled plus armor-100% done

Thanks all. I had an idea some people would not like the scales. Thats ok. The final paint up will cover most of that anyway. For the legs and torso I'm planning on larger plate looking scales. I'm trying to keep to the alligator looking skin theme. Hey, gators are pretty mean looking. At this point I really don't know if I will be producing anymore of these. I have a whole suit still to sculpt. I will be getting at finishing the housing for the 6 bladed gauntlet I did last year or was that two years ago. I posted a video of that here on the lair somewhere. Geez maybe in 10 years or so I will get this thing done. By the way I still do bodybuilding when I'm not doing this, so thanks for the calve compliments. I think those were compliments. I want to also thank evryone for posting their work here. That is what keeps me motivated to do mine. Sometimes just getting started is the hardest part.

Great to see these being molded.

i often wonderd if TopKnot was still going to make a apperance, and i remember the start of those feet from yeeeeeeeeears ago hehe. and a awesome tutorial to go with a great sculpt

I like the scales, i always thought of the pred as alittle reptilian anyway.

Any other work been done on him?

****** on a bike!!!!.......your skin texturing is phenomenal man!!!.....must have taken ages.
I really like the smaller scales not sure about the larger ones TBH.....but i like the skin on the upper feet better.
My only concern is the size of the foot in relation to the length of the shin......he may end up looking out of proportion with massive feet and dumpy lower legs.......but it is just a concern....and I am probably wrong lol.....we'll have to wait and see................how long did you say till you get this finished?

Great work man......inspiring...keep it up (but work a bit faster)

Amazing... and I like the scales! I also think the predators got something reptilian in them, so keep them.
Amazing work.. dont know what else to say.

Incredible work. What an incredible "feat". Nice detail. I do have one technical question. Wouldn't it be better to hinge the block of wood (functioning as the sole) in the middle to create a more fluid stride? I would also suggest cladding the bottom with a piece of 1/2" neoprene rubber to absorb shock. What's the red stuff, shellac? I've seen the yellowish kind in the AVP books applied to clay models before molding.

Hey Carl, I am going to glue a piece of 1/2 mat to the bottom as a sole. I was actually going to do the hinge thing but once I put the foot on and walked i found that the foot bends nicely were the wood ends and the foam begins. That bend happens to be right at the ball of the pred foot. I would like to tell you I planned it that way but it was blind luck. Great minds think alike. Thanks for the comment by the way.

Oh yea, the red stuff is just spray paint. It works great as a sealer. I like to use it because I can see where I've been.

aweosme work, and brilliant tut, really helpful, and yes you do have freaky calves really like these, hope to see the finished things.
quick question the shin armour, who makes it?

First off, FANTASTIC job!

The only thing I am curious about is since the feet are at such an angle, how long would you be able to walk in them? I know women wear heels all day but most complain about it and walking all day on your toes like that might get old after awhile. Like I said its just a thought.

I would be really interested in an after hunt report on how well they stood up and how comfortable they were to wear. ;)

VaderDaxe, I have the exact same thing in another pair of feet I did back in the early 90s and they were no problem. I wore those for 5 or 6 hours at a time. In fact I just took that pred suit out last year so a friend could where it. He had the same size shoe as me. He said it was no problem. I guess the difference with these and high heels is all the support of the shoe itself.

esdain, I did the chin armor. In fact I'm heading to the garage right now to lay up the othe side in fiberglass. That mold has only been sitting around for a year or two. Man I'm a loser.

First off, TOP NOTCH sculpting!!!

Secondly, excellent design and tutorial!

Now, let's get to what's bugging me... Am I the only one who's noticed your FREAKY calves???
When I got to the first photo with your calves in there, I though my screen was blemished or something was wrong with the photo!!! Holy cow dude, you're like Popeye's alter-ego... You pop a can of spinach and your calves expand instead of your forearms!!!

But, again, once I got over that, VERY top notch work!!!

Awesome molds but I think you could dunk on a twenty foot rim with those calves son

great job!!! MOW your not the only one who noticed that..i was going to tell him to get to a hospital also,in an arnie , kindergarden cop voice...." looks like a tumor to me!"excellent work !!
