The Definitive Hawkeye "Avengers" Costume Thread

My quiver is hung on my vest (on my hawkeye) & it tends to pull the vest backwards - so the vest ends up in my neck.
Can I suggest putting the magnets on a harness underneath the tunic.

Has anyone located the buckles on his boots? I have looked for years but no luck.

Check the first page, buckles are Joe Rocket Super Street/Meteor/Sonic Boot Buckles. Not too hard to find but they are a bit of an older part ;)

Hello Friends!

Please keep this thread alive and add the CIVIL WAR stuff to the Hawkeye mix!

OMG yes! There's a whole new costume in CW, and it looks like they've moved away from Ultimate Maroon and got on board with 616 Purple! (is it still 616? stupid universe smooshing events) It doesn't look quite *this* purple in the trailer tho

I just hope there's not a new quiver to build - building is not my forte. :unsure At least the quiver harness is on the outside now.

Earth magnets are the key. Heavy duty rare earth magnets. Im going to sew a little pockets on the inside of the tunic then onto the corresponding location on the quiver. Thoughts.

Earth magnets were my first thought as well. While the magnets will surely hold the quiver up, they won't keep it from detaching or moving askew when it's bumped at a crowded con. Also the pulling backwards as mentioned by Widescreen. Even if you put the magnets on a harness as they suggest, the coat fabric is still sandwiched between.

My suggestion (what I've done) is two discreet buttonholes on the coat back just big enough to let a small but sturdy clip to pass through to the crossbody strap underneath. Weight is transferred to your torso so the coat doesn't pull, it's secure, and the buttonholes won't be detected when the quiver is attached. What you want is called a bound buttonhole:

Trickier to do than a regular machined buttonhole, but nearly invisible when done well.

The suit looks like a cross of the 616 and Ultimates II book.

That quiver design was actually the first concept for the Avengers movie, not sure why they moved away from it as it looks like they've come full circle...

Re: The Definitive Hawkeye "Avengers" Costume Thread

Jeremy Renner posted this pic to his Twitter today. Not a lot of costume detail is visible, but you can see the bow and quiver. The old rotary quiver is back!

Re: The Definitive Hawkeye "Avengers" Costume Thread

I've seen this too! The costume doesn't look like the art we've seen....it's less purple

That could also just be the lighting in the shot. Hard to tell. I hope that it actually is closer to the concept art.

Hey guys. I read through this whole thread a few weeks ago and just got an account. The amount of work everyone put into this is awesome! While going through all the pictures and posts I noticed something that I'm not sure anyone else thought of. Everyone has been trying to figure out how the quiver is mounted to his avengers costume and I think I figured it out. I believe that the black back piece that goes over the shoulders and ends just below the collar bones is actually a piece of rigid plastic that had been covered in fabric and acts at a harness for the quiver. If you look at the "pipping" around that piece, the texture doesn't match the leather piping of the rest of the outfit. I believe that's because it's the plastic folded over the edges of the fabric adhered to the harness. Then the pieces that go over the shoulders keep it secured at the top and the buckles under the arms keep it in place there.

Hey guys,

ok I know moost of you are probably more interrested in the new CW suit or still in the AOU suit BUT I´m allmoost done with an accurate Version 1 (black) Avengers suit built up for my son but still need some litle things for that.
So my first question would be were the black cordura back quiver identifid ever and does there exist a picture of the knife sheath they used for the Busse dagger on screen as these are besides the bow the last items I need to call that suit DONE.

Any help on these items would be vere very friendly guys.

Greetings Heinz

I've uploaded my folding bow to MyMiniFactory.

They are available for 3D Printing. If you don't have a 3D Printer, you can contact your closest at 3dhubs and work out a deal for them to 3D Print for you. Prices will vary between hubs and materials.

Thank you, Corin. I've spent a lot of time modeling it.

So... That one is just a base model anyone can use whatever method they want to build it their way (I'm sticking with 3D printing). Now I'm working on making a screen accurate version of the folding bow. I've been going through LOTS of screen grabs to get is as accurate as I can. While Hawkeye is on the roof during the invasion there is another addition to his bow that's not in the rest of the movie. Above the arrow rest, on the other side of the laser sight.

I think it holds the cord to his grappling arrow. Seeing as it's the only time it's seen on the bow.

My question is, are there any clearer pictures? Maybe behind the scenes?
I'd like to make it as an additional prop that attaches to the riser. I'd also like to design the quiver to hold it until it's needed.

I may have to dig out the movie and take a closer look. I think you're right about it being some sort of cable spool for the grappling arrow though.
