hey dudes, im trying to test the waters here.. have any of you guys done a dark night styled bat suit?

I did the search but didn't turn up much..

Reason I'm asking is my buddy does a costuming group for heroes that does a lot of charity work and was wondering if i'd like to participate. I'm allways down for something like that and I think i'd do a good batman..

Anyway, any links and stuff or advice you have would be great. thanx :thumbsup

Hello! There are a lot of people who have done the Dark Knight around here. There are MANY options. If I may make a small suggestion, visit the BotB, the BROTHERHOOD OF THE BAT forum, use the search function there. You will find EVERY POSSIBLE bit of information on building every possible version of the Batsuit there.

That's what EVERYONE here is going to tell you. :lol Many of us, like me, are members there too.

GOOD LUCK!

Depends on how accurate and expensive you wanna get too. Top shelf TDK suits can run you several thousand. I personally went for the UDReplicas suit for comfort and comparatively the cost is much less. Can see it in my avatar. ;)

Man those are nice..

I'm thinking of doing a foam build.. though. The for sale ones are out of my price range and purpose, since its more or less a starter costume so to speak. But I think it's something I can handle.

For accuracy, I'm mostly worried about the chest, as that's the most obvious thing you'll see. It doesn't need to be 100% screen accurate. Just all the right pieces in the right place with the right colors.

In looking at the different pics of the screen used suits, you can tell they weren't even 100% accurate..:lol some of the chest pieces differ in size and shape, obviously they had more than one suit. Just funny..

You should invest in one of Artsee's generic TDK suits then... without going from a straight foam build, its probably the cheapest method for a "starter build", even if its not 100% screen accurate

I took a look at them..

I was kinda hoping to not have to wear a huge piece of latex around :lol I liked the idea of individual pieces over a spandex suit simply for the air flow..

The foam is cheap.. it'd just be the time in making out and laying patterns. Right?

I guess I shouldve been more specific... I've seen plenty of people take the generic TDK facade and cut it up into sections to avoid the full frontal latex look, lol

:lol :thumbsup now that makes sense. What's the damage on those?

You REALLY should go check out the BotB though, I'm telling you. It's THE BEST source for Batman related costuming. Besides the RPF. :angel

Artsee does a Great suit!!!
And IFC is correct the Brotherhood is a great source for stuff Bat Related!!
I also do a front style facid if your still looking!!

Email me!

I've already joined and read through the archives and searched extensively at TBOTB :love So thanks :thumbsup

You'll have to forgive me, but what's a font style facid?

you said front.. :lol will do, I haven't decided which method im going with yet though. Do you do cowls?

You'll have to forgive me, but what's a font style facid?

That is a GREAT question, and if you ever find out the answer, please post it here!! After hearing people say that FOR YEARS, I only have a suspicion about that they are trying to say. I'm TOTALLY guessing, but I THINK It's just bad typing, or a string of malaprops for "Front style facade" which sort of matches the product. You know, it's just the front of the costume. Nothing on the back, the butt, the back of the legs, etc. It's a "facade". I have NO idea what a "facid" is. lol

First off I said Front (as in the front of the suit) not font!!!!

As for "Facid" that was a spelling error on my part!! Yes a facade is what I meant.

Sorry I do not do cowls!!
