Cad Bane's piss poor monotone dub over is about the only thing in terms of a comparison one can make between this show and the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns that inspired his and Fett's character... It sad... Almost as sad as what happens to Cad lolololol

Operation: "Reinsert Grogu into TMS3 for $$$$$$$$" is officially underway (y):rolleyes:

Literally the ONLY thing they had the balls to do this episode, they go and undo in a stupid Marvel end credits scene.... btw he wasn't exactly "gunned down in cold blood" either.... He just was slower..

Watching them just plot armor their way flying around and laying on the ground taking hit after hit was hysterical to watch.... Almost as funny as watching a guy with a jetpack later fall off his rancor and get stuck on his back like a turtle...

Now we're magically watching King Kong! Isn't it cooooooooool

I hate this garbage... Why has StarWars become this trash.... and thats what this is.. Trash... pure liquid trash.... If you enjoy this kinda crap, I want you to envision someone having picked up a bag of rancid week old garbage, one thats been sitting out in the sun and rain... and then envision that person willingly slicing off a corner at the bottom as they start guzzling the pooled festering putrid spew that has settled at the bottom...

I started watching an absolutely AMAZING show the other day... 9 episodes... 40 min long average... I knew nothing about the pre-existing characters, the world, what may or may not happen in it...

I'm Now on my 3rd watch through of it.... my 3rd....
The show is called ARCANE and its on Netflix...
I feel this is a fundamentally important piece of film and writing given how much heart and soul went into every single frame and piece of it. The character building, of which there are tons of, is phenomenal. They’re all relatable, and most importantly they’re all flawed despite themselves.. and that's on top of all its absolutely endlessly BEAUTIFUL cinematography
This is how you write and execute a TV show. This is how you write and execute lovable, believable, RELATABLE, realistic characters.
Episode 3 holds absolutely NO punches, and it is as shocking as it is jarring when compared to most “safe” media today, both in its impact on us audience members as well as its use in the story for sending the show and characters off the edge into some really dark and thematically interesting places.
I knew literally NOTHING about League of Legends going in other than it was this goofy looking videogame some of my friends at college were playing back in freaking 2009 while was studying manufacturing, and now they are some of my favorite characters in cinema..

Its not the most well written of Stories I agree..
Its Disney, they took Adult characters then aimed it at the kiddies and turned said characters into Disney Princesses..

Also Grogu... As much as I love him, it was stupid to bring him back with Mando. The whole story for the first 2 seasons of Mando was about returning him to his kind/Jedi. They went through blood sweat and tears to do that and finally handed him over to Luke. Now he's back again? That story is complete, It would be nice to see S3 have Mando go solo and we can meet some new characters. Definitely about the $$$. I don't mind SEEING Grogu but following the path of the Jedi would have Made more sense. I don't know, maybe there's some grand plan for him.

There was a Time when some Book club sold you a Disney book a month Groyer was it ?.. ****** pictures not real Disney and hard as @#×÷ to get out the contract!
We fell for a similar VHS just to get a free copy of Flubber!!
 
Basically I put it all down to Robert Rodriguez. I have enjoyed every episode that wasn’t directed by him and I think it’s just because he insists on cramming in a lot of action that he does not know how to film or he wastes time having characters talk endlessly about the action about to happen.

Any actually filmed action looks like Larpers. It’s stilted and swords are just tapped together half heartedly. The bigger fights are just blasters being fired. “Oh we will go up on the roof and shoot”. Great plan, didnt help even a little bit and took 3 minutes of talking to set up.

The CGI fights were pretty fun but let’s not pretend the director had a huge role in that. I doubt that they let the Shark boy and Lavagirl guy sit behind the computer to make the Rancor move.

I like this direction of Boba but think more should have been done with Cad Bane. Essentially they are very similar characters and could have played off each other well all season long. Both have had reputations of being ruthlessly efficient killers and bounty hunters but Boba represents growing wiser and more stoic while Cad represents the old gunslinger who hasn’t changed in decades. Sure he’s efficient but he’s never elevated himself beyond a hired gun. A lot was left on the table when it comes to that dynamic.

I think I liked 4 out of 7 episodes and luckily those first 2 and Mando 2 really can stand on their own for rewatching.

They were what I call "Jingly Keys".... Cheaply designed crap that is inserted into media in order to distract and entertain the audience on its cheap veneer alone from the flaws in the core media itself.
Remove those clips from the episodes and what is really left?

I've waited till the end of the show to come back and say anything. That was the most incredibly ****** show I have ever seen in a very very long time.
Neon biker punk teenagers, Fett suddenly can't fight, the show decided to copy-paste any cowboy western with Indians and just slap Tusken robes on them, it spent two episodes on Jedi, and.....Ugh. I can't even begin to describe just how absolutely horrifically this was handled.
 
You know what sucks?
I cant even really enjoy the 'Under The Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett' thing anymore either now just because of the interviews with Rodriguez, Favreau and Filoni... knowing what I now do in hindsight....
Seriously... Everything they and Disney touch turns to flies in terms of writing...

I'm done with Disney. I would at this point love to see Star Wars fans bail and let the mouse sink.
We have quality content, we can tell our own stories in ttrpgs and the video games, and we don't need Disney to keep proving to us that it doesn't care about quality storytelling.
Every time I see something actually good it's a reminder of what Disney could have done, and absolutely galling.
 
Still haven’t seen it yet but is it really only 38 mins? Seems like reviews across the internet are somewhat mixed although perhaps more positive than what I’m seeing here! Lol
 
At the risk of being banned from this thread, and I certainly have posted a lot of commentary here, I wasn’t actually disappointed by the finale. I guess I wasn’t really expecting a whole lot, I was never a diehard Boba Fett fan, and wasn’t part of the ‘He’s the most awesome bounty hunter in the universe’ group. So maybe because of that I accepted this more. I’m guessing because I wasn’t really excited for it, I wasn’t bitterly disappointed by it.

I'll grant there were moments. The jetpacks for one.
But the show, supposedly meant to showcase a deadly and feared bounty hunter, I think failed to do even that, setting aside the hype people have for Fett.
I was hoping after all those disagreements Fennec would sell him out, honestly, and that's something I never thought I'd say about a Fett story.

I think this is the heart of the issues with the show. They had to do somethign quick, so they took the ideas from the movie (Boba becomes crime lord, gets a rancor etc) and spread them out over a series and filled lots of it with backstory from Mandalorian.

No Crimson Dawn, no Luke, no Tuskens, none of the things people were hoping to see. Guess Garsa just died in the Cantina?

So now Boba Fett is a boring nice guy who live out his days on Tatooine with his girlfriend and street gang friends? UGH.
