The Book of Boba Fett

I seriously wonder what is going on in Filoni and favreau’s head right now..
“Ah dude it was so cool to see Boba
ride a rancor
!”
“Ah dude, I thought I was cooler to bring back the
droidekas but make them bigger and stupider
!”
“Ah no, man, that sick reveal that actually the Pikes killed the Tuskens, I bet you NO one saw that coming!”

“Okay, I guess it’s time to clean up these action figures.”

They know it's not good. The real question are they in it for the pay check or for the craft? If they're doing this because they are in it for the craft then they will try and bounce back and do better next time. My gut feeling is they were busy doing something else and someone else and the B team ran this show.

I sure hope so, I have now determined I have zero faith in Kenobi.. I hope to ****** I’m wrong

They announced a ton of shows last year, if John and Dave are overseeing all of them, they may be stretched too thin. If Kenobi fails, all that good faith they gained with season 1 and 2 of Mando is gone and they are back to square one.
I think this has always been their problem, too big too fast.. I remember when Star Wars was a special event, now it seems to be commercialized

I liked Cad Bane a lot. Right now he's really the only major aspect of this episode that was done well that comes to mind.To kill him off would be huge mistake. I hope he survived.
It seemed much of this was catering to the lowest common denominator. Idk, there wasn't anything truly surprising, unique, thought provoking, different, or compelling and there certainly wasn't much that actually made this feel like SW. As many have said in the past, labeling something SW, handing out blasters, lightsabers and costumes isn't enough. Well I guess I should say it isn't enough for me.

Star Wars has always been commercialized, though. It’s like one of its driving factors is what kind of merchandise they can sell to go along with it.

Netflix’s Star Wars episode of The Toys That Made us is really eye opening in regards to how much this entire franchise is built to sell things.

Here's my thoughts. I know several just don't like Rodriguez, but I'd lay the the blame for this episode at the feet of Favreau & the editor. The word "Clunky" fits perfectly here & that goes for everything from the overly expository dialogue, to the scene to scene transitions.

I'm in agreement that this was just something to do to tell a story that could've been a few lines of dialogue when Boba shows up again. I'm sure Mando will need some help in season 3, & when he asks about Boba, someone could've said, "He's retired on Tattooine now. I heard he took over Jabba's operation & ran the Pyke's spice running off the planet.".

Here's the thing that I've found about SW in general. As long as there's ONE SINGLE THING that a fan can like or appreciate, then it will live on, no matter how bad the media we got that thing in was. In this show, we got live-action Krrsantan & Cad Bane, advancement & development from Cobb Vanth, & a few BA scenes with Fennec. Now as bad as this show turned out, we still have those moments.

I watched every single episode of TCW, & will never go back & watch it again, simply because I personally got REALLY bored with some of it. That said, I find myself recommending it & talking fondly about it, just because of things like AHSOKA & Cad Bane.

Final thought: This was a means to an end... It introduced some new characters into live-action (or the toy box. LOL), it reunited Mando & Grogu so that when season 3 hits, it will do so running, & filled a SW sized hole in the Disney+ schedule.

I will do with this show as we have to do with SW today- take the meat & throw out the bones.

I felt like this episode was a little bit anti-climactic, It wasn't terrible but I don't think it lived up to all the hype it was building for this 'war' between factions.

First of all, I think they spent too long on those droids, 99% of the fight to me just looked like them shooting at the shields and running away. They made them too OP imo; wouldn't have minded if they were smaller and didn't take up as much runtime.

My second problem is this 'war' seemed to be over a little too quickly in universe, with the whole fight lasting maybe a Jawas lunch-break. If it took place over the course of a whole day or multiple days then it could have seemed like the fight was even worth it. I also think the finale should have been 2 episodes; maybe they were cornered at the end of the first and leave it on a bit of a cliffhanger. This is why they shouldn't have put 2 Mandalorian episodes in TBOBF even though I love him.

My third problem is there seemed to be many under-utilised things in the show. I reckon they could have taken those droids shields much quicker if either Mando or Boba used one of their ships. Remember Anakin in E1 taking down those Droidekas in one shot from the cannons in the N-1 Starfighter? I know these are bigger but a few shots should do it or weaken it to the point where they could get through and finish them off. Jabba's Palace was also under utilised, It is literally a fortress, why he's taking orders from Vespa girl I truly don't know, he really is Beta Fett at this point.

Fourth problem is still Boba himself, he hardly does anything. Ok we finally got some blaster action from him at the beginning but that was cut short just so we could see him ride the Rancor, which was cool for about 5 seconds. Cad Bane was defeated a little quick, maybe a little more melee fighting before he goes down would have been nice.

I was also kind of hoping Tusken Raiders would have appeared to help out at some point. His tribe was killed yes, but would no other tribe want to help out to avenge them, especially considering Boba could improve relations between them and the towns (making them pay a toll to travel across the desert). I thought it was set up so that they would return in some way but maybe not.

Glad to see the Sherif is recovering but they probably could have put something a little more exciting for the end credits.

At least we see Mando and Grogu fly off to a better show at the end, as fast as they can which is exactly what I'll be doing when S3 and Kenobi come out. Lets hope they don't mess that up!

Well, my thoughts are that with all of the side stories going on in the show, his training with the Tuscan raiders, the two Mandalorian episodes with all the cameos, there wasn’t really much leading up to the epic battle in this episode. They really could’ve condensed this whole thing into the original two hour Boba Fett movie they had in mind.
