The Book of Boba Fett

I had not fallen out of love of Mando but its been a while and sorely wanted this Bad Ass Boba intent on revenge..
Instead we get served up an "I love Lucy" show every week!
Lucy even does the Fennec eye roll..
There isn't room for both and as others have said Mando is the Boba we wanted.

Bam Mando shows up we get Outer space cool Aliens a shoot out and some mythology all in the mix..
Plus he reunites with Fozzy Bear on Tatooine

I get they probably wanted to contrast Fett with Djarin after they had already given away much of Fett’s personality to Djarin. However, like I said before, they could’ve easily still done so by making Fett a much darker and more self-serving reflection of Djarin. While perhaps not evil per se, he could cross a line that Djarin would not and maybe they could be a foil for each other.

Maybe while both live in the shades of grey, Djarin is on the lighter end, and Fett on the darker.

The notion of a “changed” Fett that wants to be a benevolent crimelord still just hasn’t been successfully sold, at least in my mind. While it’s technically a perfectly valid course to go down, was it one that most Fett fans cared to see? A kinder, more vulnerable Fett that delegates a lot and seems to have a lot to learn? Even if it is, the execution has been lacking, at the least.

I admit, I’ve been struggling with BoBF… To each their own, but hasn’t been my cup of tea…

Spoiler: Episode 5 spoilers

The last episode has definitely been my favorite. Why? Because it was an episode of The Mandalorian. I have no information to base this on, but part of me wonders if that was suppose to be the season premiere of Mando and they released it due to the lukewarm (Star Wars pun intended) response BoBF has been getting…

I hope it’s an indicator of the direction the show is going to go, but only time will tell.

Like watching episodes of Scooby Doo whenever Scooby and Shaggy would make sandwiches and tie it together with a string it was so thick, just made me hungry...drove me nuts...lol

When the inevitable day comes and Disney releases these shows on Blu Ray, and "you must get them before they're gone from Disney+," we'll pretty much have to buy the Book of Boba Fett, because the Mandalorian won't be complete without it.

Maybe he's still playing coy..
But depending on what Disney is to do with Boba he only has what 45 to 50 minutes to leave an impact.
That unless he will be a series regular in Mando and like you say a Dark loose Cannon type sort of like
BA Barracus.

As the waves of excitement from episode 5 recede, my feeling is giddy anticipation for The Mandalorian and primarily disappointment for TBOBF. I have never seen a show demonstrate all that's wrong with it in the middle of the season.
Mando- respected and intimidating. Heck, even his silhouette is awesome in the meat locker scene! Boba- forced to tell everyone his name (including droids)
Mando- says less and his words have more meaning. Snappy one liners and catch phrase- "Wizard." " I can bring you in warm..." Boba- talks too much - "Go make baby Banthas."
Mando- exciting high speed flight on a starfighter. Boba- plodding along on a Bantha.
Mando- takes down a group of thugs singlehandedly. Boba- gets beat up and dragged back to the palace for treatment.
Mando- thrilling and at times heartwarming- excellent pacing and music with properly placed exotic characters in other worlds. Boba- slow, disjointed, poorly paced with forgettable supporting cast.
This episode seems to reaffirm that TBOBF was slapped together while waiting for the next season of Mando. I kind of wish they would have left Boba alone. I really like Tem but Pedro demonstrates more emotion behind a helmet than Tem does without. Unfortunately, I am afraid that the next two episodes of TBOBF can't live up to the excitement we just felt yesterday. (I am still in it to the end but conflicted.)

Well somethings got to happen soon.
He's got a book to write and the Publishers are breathing down his back..

This is the job of a director of photography, not the director. The director will communicate his vision to a DP, yes, but ultimately not his role. A director’s job on set is primarily dealing with the actors. Which…he’s doing a terrible job of. It’s like he’s having them read their line out once and then immediately calling, “cut, print, that’s a DC! Moving on.”

Oh I don't disagree but he is a pretty hands on director and has always been in the mix not just directing but getting down in the mud..
He has a long list of visually stunning movies with a certain style...

Why is Bossk and Dengar wanted on this show again? What did they actually do onscreen again? Aint i little stinker?...lol

They were active to a degree in the Clone Wars animated series. They didn't just stand around as set dressing like in ESB.

Also interested in someone IDing the little hold-out blaster that Mando had to check.

Edit: It appears to be a FP-45 Liberator.

That blaster is what I always imagined Lando's "5 Shot Stingbeam blaster" from the classic Lando novels would look like.

The Liberator was definitely a neat choice. I was surprised to see it. They can be spendy although I think repros do exist.
