The Book of Boba Fett

Convicted prisoners are assigned to work programs. Captured prisoners during a time of war are sometimes forced to work in labor camps. But they aren't bought/sold as commodities. And though their existence while a prisoner is not meant to be pleasant, they aren't usually subjected to torture.

That being the case, IMHO I still think that Boba is best described as a "captured prisoner," not a "slave," whacks with a stick notwithstanding.

Right, John McCain just didn't like raising his arms any more and those Marines in WW2 wanted to go on a 70 mile stroll to their death. Torture of pow's is pretty common.

I never took the 1000 years thing seriously. I think it's just hyperbole to mess with the heads of the victims.

Concerning acid and beskar: from what I can tell, the armor wasn't damaged. Just the paint. Try Sarlaac Juice™ paint stripper, available at all participating True Value Hardware stores.

Yep..i agree 100% and Halliwax emptied the shelf of the paint stripper..lol

I always thought the "1000 year digestion" threat was an odd one. You'd long be dead before then so why would you care... unless the sarlacc could keep victims alive long beyond natural life. Or perhaps at least keep long-lived lifeforms nourished enough to live that long.

That whole lizard trip is very cool and very revealing...if you can, go back and rewatch it to try to find the egg...unless you already did..lol
once i get in tonight im firing up the 3d printer and watching ep1 and 2 back to back continuous until i pass out. let me see if i catch it

you know.. i am a slow learner

As is domestic abuse. Happens every day. But that doesn't mean the term "spouses" best describes two random folks you encounter who are beating the crap out of each other. More likely one tried to rob or assault the other, they were drunk and arguing, or it's a road rage situation. Could they be married? Sure, it's possible, but likey not the most common scenario.

Likewise, just because SOME imprisonments historically involved abuse and even de-huminization, I don't think it would be correct in the majority of cases to refer to any random captured prisoner as a "slave" just because the prisoner was chained, shoved, and made to dig up water pods. Again, just my view.

i saw the picture of the Sarlacc underneath the surface of the sand and it looks almost like a big tree upside down...it's interesting in the vision he is being tangled by the Sarlacc, tangled by the tree, in and out of his armor(like Usagi Pilgrim stated), and the very tree that is strangling him...he breaks free and uses a piece of it to be made into a new weapon in his hand. The tree has been having power over him(his past, pain, loss)...he's broken free of its grip and has overcome, no longer a victim but an overcomer and now has power over it.

I think that the 1,000 year thing was just hyperbole and the Sarlaac doesn't literally take 1,000 years to digest its prey. It's not like Jabba and his gang were zoologists or anything like that. The Sarlaac probably does have a very slow digestive system that local lore exaggerated to 1,000 years and Jabba didn't know, nor cared, enough that it wasn't true, it just sounded good and made being fed to the Sarlaac sound appropriately terrifying.

As far as somehow keeping its prey alive while slowly digesting it, that makes 0 biological sense to me. Why would any organism waste energy in keeping its prey alive while digesting it? It becomes a 0 sum game, or close to it, spending extra energy to get energy. Unless things like banthas, krayt dragons, & "Goros" are its natural prey that it evolved to subsist on and they're highly, highly nutritious, the Sarlaac would likely be spending as much energy, or even more, in keeping its prey than what it's going to get from it. It's sort of like charging your phone using a trickle charge while still using it.

Lol! I wouldn't even begin to try to explain any kind of biological logic in the GFFA. I was trying to remember how it was explained in the old days although I don't recall if victims were actually kept alive or not. To me the 1000 year digestion threat isn't really that scary unless you're gonna be alive to experience it to any prolonged extent. Otherwise, all it means is that its gastric acids are so weak, you're not going to suffer in that regard. You're gonna die of thirst or hunger instead. To me, being digested alive in minutes/hours/days or some other much shorter amount of time would be far more horrifying!
