The Book of Boba Fett

Luke Skywalker is in an outfit that we’re never seen. Looks identical to PT Jedi garb, but in all black. 100% going to see him again. (Not that anyone actually said we weren’t, but this confirms for me.)
Yeah I noticed that. He's wearing thay kimono style tunic as opposed to his shirt with the mandrin collar. Does he wear this combo in the episode? I don't remember now.
I think this is what he's wearing sitting with Grogu at the beginning. It's hard to spot the tabbards, but I believe they're there.
I don’t think he did wear this in episode 6. He has three (maybe for like Anakin in ROTS) layers. The traditional costume Luke wore with the belt didn’t have the tabards, and the new ninja style look didn’t have an undertunic or tabards.

In the poster we see an undertunic, the ninja like tunic, but more open like the PT, and at least one set of tabards. Even in ROTJ he only wore tabards and a plain front shirt.
Just bored enough...lol sorry for the low quality image, but I blew out the brightness to match.

Is it tabbard or tabard? I can never remember. Oh well..as Wolf said...whatever!
It's actually a bit like Obi-Wan. His tabard ends at the obi(sash). I can't figure out the front. It looks like two tabards, but I don't see two in the front. Unless one is like in ROTJ, and it goes around his neck like a scarf. But I make it out.
Geez I'm learning all sorts of new stuff today. Next to his right arm there it looks like there's either two layers or, like Obi-Wan, There's a tuck that's tacked up. (Don't remember the technical sewing term for that off the top of my head.)
Or it could be a wide tabard with a skinny tabard in top? Interesting that they stop at the obi though, I do feel that that's more in line with the OT.
So this needs to stop. *lol* A tabard is basically a rectangular medieval European poncho. Front panel, back panel, neck opening. Usually at least knee-length. Luke's ROTJ outfit consisted of the placketed shirt and matching pants, both black; a sleeveless, open-front vest heavily based on a Tibetan panel coat, in faded black; and the cloak in brown. The vest thing had simplified construction, given the lack of contrasting paneling, and what is an attached front facing/collar on the coat is more of a stole on Luke's garment, attached only at the neck.

It looks to have been a shortened, sleeveless version of what Alec wore in ANH -- same fabric and everything (just a different color).

Same back construction...

Trish's Prequel tunics, with the split stoles, feel very slapdash and sloppy by comparison -- changed for change's sake, same as with the ROTS early-Imperial uniforms. That's also where the "doubled up" tunics come from. His ROTS outfit looks like it's supposed to be his ANH outfit, but it's too short, constructed wrong, and worn wrong. Obi-Wan and Luke both wear their tunics open to the sash. Prequel Obi-Wan and Anakin have them overlapped almost up to the neck. Can't make them the same way as the OT and have them lay that way.

Luke's outfit here is basically an all-fabric version of PT Anakin's, with less ridiculous stoles. Overlapped gi style shirt, too-high-overlapped sleeveless tunic, double stoles instead of one going around the neck. I kinda hate it because of that... :cautious:

I've seen some predictions that Mace Windu will appear somewhere in this episode, based on Tem's interview where he said he wants a showdown with Windu for Jango's decapitation. I think that's a terrible idea. Windu should stay dead. If he's alive, it will render what Yoda told Luke about his being "the last of the Jedi" nonsensical.

Well, Sam was affectd by the Blip, so technically it wouldn't be too wrong. From a certain point of view.

Yes, while the word ‘tabard’ may be technically incorrect, unfortunately it’s become a common term in the vernacular of Star Wars costumes… everyone knows exactly what is being referred to.

It’s actually not just a cloth version of the Anakin ROTS, I was wrong about that. Eventually when I finish collecting images and writing I’ll start a different thread and try to explain what I’ve found.

Totally agree. I know the specter of Mace Windu's return has long been talked about but I sorely hope it never happens. Enough with all the miraculous resurrections. It really needs to stop. If live action Mace Windu is ever seen again, it should be relegated to the realm of flashbacks…or as a Force ghost if we wanted to stretch a little.

Saying this in the nicest possible way, but never let Robert Rodriguez near Star Wars ever again. He has a really cheesy and cheap style that is hard to stomach. I could blame the writing (which was poor throughout the Boba storyline), but RR doesn’t seem to get the tone of Star Wars at all and every single one of his episodes were super duper cheesy. As someone who has tried to be positive, I really, really, really disliked that episode. The entire Boba story was really poorly done. I was hoping for something that could save it in this episode, but it was probably the worst of the entire season and cemented this story being a huge waste of time. Just going to put it behind me and move on to better things hopefully.

Yeah, unfortunately I agree completely

Right?

SUPER clunky.

I’m kind of floored by how bad it was. Like that was almost worse than I could have even imagined. Tonally, it was all over the place, with cheesy comedic moments cutting through dramatic moments, and dramatic moments executed so poorly if felt like a stage play. Even the action bored me. I also couldn’t stand the non-stop dialogue between unimportant characters.

Again, I typically preach positivity, but I feel like unloading on this episode and series after this finale. I’m putting most of the blame on RR because the three worst episodes of the series by far were his episodes. And not just the worst, but had me cringing so hard I felt like I was eating a lemon. Just super disappointed in this episode and series.
