The Book of Boba Fett

I'm going to make a guess here, but I think that Boba may actually be dying & we're watching him ending things on his own terms. I think Fennic knows & is repaying the debt she owes after he saved her life.

As to WHY he might be coming to the end, it could be a side effect of being in contact with the Sarlacc, or even something that went wrong with the cloning process. If he's suddenly aging faster due to a clone defect that wasn't caught, then the age issue is a non-issue.

Just a thought, but the more I thought about the title, THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, it made me think more & more that it means we've seen the beginning of his story, so this show will fill in the gaps & give us his end, thus closing the book of Boba Fett.

This has occurred to me as well. I think if there is something wrong with him, it could have something to do with him being a clone. Premature aging, cancer, undisclosed expiration date, etc. Hell, maybe he was sick even before he fell into the sarlacc. I agree that "The Book of Boba Fett" sounds pretty self contained and has a certain sound of finality to it. The only thing I can't figure out narratively is why finally bring him back only to turn around and kill him off again

It may sound like they're selfish, but I think Favreau & Filoni are HUGE fans of the character, & want to tell the end of his story before someone does what was done to the Legacy characters.

I frankly don't get why Daniel Logan keeps getting brought up. We know that as a fully grown adult, Fett would look just like Jango as portrayed by Temuera Morrison. As far as Tem's age discrepancy goes, the ordeal in the sarlacc and on Tatooine in general can easily explain away why Fett looks aged. It's just a nonissue as far as I'm concerned. As for his demeanor, I would say that would be more the fault of the showrunners than the actor. If I had a complaint, I'd say Tem's body type simply doesn't match the smaller Fett we knew in the OT and I would've been fine if they had used a double except the rare occasion the helmet came off. Clearly they didn't go in that direction however.

EDIT: I will say I could see a place for Daniel Logan if it's in a flashback. I know there had been speculation Cad Bane might make an appearance and one wonders if we might see that unfinished TCW sequence where a young Fett receives his helmet dent from Bane, reimagined in live action.
Agreed...because if we are going there we might as well throw Bodie Taylor into the mix,,,he's 45, from New Zealand like Tem and played the semi-older clone in the Kamino scene in AOTC.

edit: maybe they all will be in the flashback scenes

I always wondered whatever happened to him!

I guess that's possible! If that's where they're going, they've got a lot of story to delve into in a short amount of time but it would give the show the hook it needs!

Spot on!!! This focuses us back to Mando for season three without distraction. Now i'm convinced we will get Mando back in the season finale of Boba for the passing of the torch...thanks for the spoiler lol, jk.

There still is a part of me that just hopes we can keep him alive and he just does his thing without them killing off another fan favorite, even under better circumstances this time. If Filoni/Favreau REALLY wanna contrast Fett with the fates of our legacy characters so far, he should just die of old age at 85 years old, happy and content. lol!

We all have love for our favorite characters for sure...but a crime lord dying happy and content at 85? not gonna happen... lol. The only Legacy character that i can think of that died of old age was Master Yoda and i think he was more like 885 yrs old...lol. I hear you though, i had a tough time with the way Luke left us.

Luke isn’t gone, that horrible movie never happened.

Not sure how much truth there is to it, but for those who don't care about spoilers with this stuff, the entire plot for BoBF has reportedly leaked online for those wanting to read it. I wont repost the images but I read it earlier.. It all unfortunately sounds very meh for Boba's classical character if true.. but maybe it'll play better on screen. who knows... Its very 'Dave Filoni' sounding for what it's worth

The barge gunner's shot hit the deck of the skiff, not Boba's pack. The explosion knocked him down. Maybe that indeed damaged the rocketpack, that's an intriguing possibility. But it wasn't a direct hit.
To me it looks like they have it set up that the guy on the barge hits Boba in the jetpack, and the shot passes straight through the pack tank before hitting the sail barge beyond. This is a fairly typical thing with larger ordinance in real life as well where a projectile passes right through lighter objects, so it stands to reason larger, more powerful blasters and canons would do the exact same in StarWars.. at least once upon a time. Plus we can clearly see a large amount of smoke coming from the jetpack when he falls crashing to the floor stunned from the explosion just before the camera pans down to Lando. Its strange that the guy hits the sailbarge just before Boba uses the whipcord on Luke and Luke is not stunned in any similar way to when Boba, the guy covered in armor, takes a hit in the pack from the wayward ******* up top...
I just noticed that Youtube clip I posted earlier is edited and cut that second out where you can see the smoke (probably to avoid YT Police)
Here is the full unmolested version where you can see the whole scenario and smoke etc.

On top of this the angle of the "gash" in the pack is more or less lined up with that of the sail barge gunner as well. I know I sure as **** wouldn't wanna get hit by that goddamn thing punching holes in the skiff will. That aside, ROTJ is a Fimmaking and editing nightmare basket, and half of what goes on in this sequence is ridiculously tight shot for whatever reason, like they thought it'd be cool to imitate the feel of Das Boot on a Skiff.. Very weird editing and cinematography thought compared to ANH and ESB.The damaged pack later showing up in the special edition for earlier scenes is just lazy filmmaking IMHO and shouldn't be considered in this of course, haha

I’ve been ruminating on this show all day, and I honestly think they would have been better off putting Daniel Logan into the role of Boba and using Morrison to play Rex if he shows up. Morrison’s age is very apparent upon rewatching and when considering the timeline.

Actually Logan is 35...only 5 years younger than Boba actually would be in TBoBF, and he's still acting. Perhaps he was tied up with other projects, but I'm guessing Disney would have thrown enough money his way...after all Michael J. Fox did BTTF at night and FT during the day with a few hours of sleep time. And it's not like Logan didn't want to be involved with the franchise as he did Boba's voice in the Clone Wars; albeit that was a decade ago. Not sure what Logan's voice sounds like these days, but Morrison could have done the voice work with the helmet on.

Anyway, wouldn't have taken much for them to get Logan to look close to what Morrison did in 2000/1.
