The Black Hole Maximillian - Anyone ever see a production Robot? I’m trying to do Research on this Robot

Heritage isn’t certain on the use of the Robot. The only thing they can confirm is that it was created by Disney Productions, but don’t know if it was a film used model or for a special event.

Anyone have any experience with these?

Considering that it's articulated, my initial reaction would be that it is a filming miniature. There would be no reason to articulate a reference maquette, and probably little reason to articulate a static promotional display.

I think I've seen one full size robot and one maquette come up for sale in the past few years.

These guys are on display now at D23 Expo, can anyone please, please, PLEASE, get some really good pics?:) Especially the details on Max and an estimate of his actual height? This is the first time I've heard of the full sized Maximillian prop being on public display. If only they had Old B.O.B...

Hey all Dunno if these are of use to anyone, but I took these at the Disney Paris Planet Hollywood. I thought I could use them for reference for the MPC kit..if I ever get around to building it.. Sorry about the reflections, those display cases are very annoying, I just wanted to lift it...

I'm not sure if these are any help or not. I took the photos of the full size Max at an attraction they had at Disney MGM in 1992, note the control cables.

I don't recall where the articulated model photos came from or the location of the model (tableware in the background in one shot)
