The Batman

I personally never cared for that type of body builder physique for certain characters either`. Even stylized in comic art it just seems too unrealistic. For a character like Bane, perhaps, but I've seen guys like that in real life and they can't reach their own elbow to scratch it. A nice balance between muscle and flexibility seems to fit the bill for my personal tastes. For instance even simplified (and also stylized) the way Batman was drawn in the Animated Series (the first few seasons) was a nice balance between muscle and movement.

Let’s face it, the first three seasons of Batman: The Animated Series are about as perfect as you could get when it comes to Batman

The problem isn't the eye black, that looks fine. The problem is that he looks like he's still wearing his Twighlight makeup and his hair has that unnatural black color and the way it falls on the sides of his face like he's auditioning for a Cure cover band.

Maybe he just needs a haircut. I used to have long hair (down to my shoulders in fact) and that was a pain without wearing a cowl.

No padded suit or fake muscles...Pure WEST!

Batman perfected. ;)

I think the haircut is still fine. Remember, this is supposed to be a young Batman, and I, like many, suspect he's just starting out. Christian Bale had a similar haircut in Begins before he disappeared to Nepal.

Also, if this IS supposed to be Year One Batman, and if it's meant to remain in continuity with Batfleck, then this could be the '90s, in which case the medium-length center-part haircut was INSANELY popular at the time...

He fills out the suit enough for me. I mean, sure, he's not Batfleck with a padded belly, but I never liked that look anyway. The "bugling over muscled meathead" look was never something I could get on board with. This feels more grounded. This guy you could believe uses being a CEO as a cover. I mean, let's face it, how many CEOs have this body:

That's not an art style I would choose for Bats. Jim Lee really nails it for me (kind of with every character he draws, not just Bats).

So now we have a Bruce/Batman that looks like he’ll “cry at being asked to clean his room”, whilst also being an utter weakling for throwing 10 shots at a bad guy.....

Just seems nowadays, people just want to find negativity in absolutely anything.
I dont want to find negativity in anything at all. I would love to love this.

But I'm struggling to get behind a Batman that I'm pretty sure I could KTFO.

He could only be less imposing if they put nips on the suit.

I'll give it a chance, but so far it looks like Batman bought everything off the rack and he's just an angry teenager. The "Batmobile" is the worst I've ever seen, just totally unimaginative. I think Christian Bale did the best version so far.

The Tumbler was a great mix between badassery and realism. It looked cool, it sounded cool, but had a real world design. I'm still most partial to the Keaton Batmobile.

I mean, yeah, this Batmobile is kinda uninspired. It's more Mad Max than Batman, but I'm still kinda willing to give it a pass because it's a damn fine muscle car.

After watching the teaser I don’t feel as passionate about this man’s hair or cowl makeup as others do. Actually it’s kind of weird that a man’s hair can be a deal breaker. I think it looks dark and the actors appearance reflects the tone.

I was a little unclear in my phrasing. I think the best Batman was Christian Bale. The best Batmobile, IMO, was the Keaton version.

This one isn't an origins story...

I was trying to be sarcastic. :)

What I would like is a true depiction of the character as he was originally created. He was modeled after Sherlock Holmes, having a keen intellect and the ability to use ratiocination to piece together a crime scene, figure out what, who why and how, and then don the suit and go dish out justice! He just happened to have the money to buy whatever he needed to do so.

That is The Batman that I would like to see!

I had to look up ratiocination to make sure I wasn't misreading and you weren't mistyping. That is a word I've never seen before.
