The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Are you sure about that? I think it's still pretty indicative of what's going to happen immediately after said scene.

I'm pretty sure she'll fall immediately after he catches her, and then something bad will happen.

Think whatever you want, man, they're not going to show Gwen Stacy dying at the Superbowl. I guarantee that.

This is one of the problems with contextless clips that might reference established materials--people who've read the books or the comics or whatever think that they're seeing a massive spoiler and get mad, when literally nothing is being given away, especially for a general audience.
This is no worse than the way they referenced Gwen Stacy's death in the first Spider-Man film and trailer, and that was even the CLIMAX of the movie.

**Sidenote, holy crap. I forgot how awesome the trailer for the first Spider-Man movie was. It's so EARNEST.

Oh no, that's not what I meant. Obviously they aren't going to show her dying, but it's quite obvious from the trailer that is the scene in which she dies. Casual movie goers won't think none the wiser.... but us, the fans, can obviously tell from the small bits of foreshadowing.

I just wish they would stop showing so much with these trailers. First the Doc Ock Arms/Vulture wings reveal, and now this.

I'm pretty sure I'm wrong, but when Spidey catches her and they fall through the glass I swear I see Gwen's head make contact. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He's dating Gwen Stacy, and Green Goblin's in the film. The comic fans should be expecting her to die irrespective of trailers showing a bridge.

In fact, if she DOESN'T die it'll be a huge betrayal of the Spiderman mythology. I'll be very upset if that girl doesn't take a header off a bridge. Now will they be so macabre as to have Spidey's web catching her do the deed? I highly doubt it. But I may be pleasantly surprised...

Im sooo damn excited about the movie. Even tho they should name it ultimate spiderman and not amazing :) but im sure that the movie will be awesome (even with the fear that they put in too many villains).

All that craziness and S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Avengers or F4 any other Marvel Universe hero doesn't get called? Weird?

Still not sold. But might be warming up... just a little.

I hate to say it, but the only way they can make me like this in any sort of way is to kill Gwen. Emma Stone's been pretty much the only redeeming part of this reboot and I'd hate to see her go - but, Gwen dies...

As bad as this movie looks, killing her off - not because the actress wants to leave, but because it's a part of Spidey's story would make it work a bit more for me. But, like I said everything I've seen about this movie still looks terrible.

Well since Sony has none of those rights none of them exist in the ASM universe presumably.

Not buying into this film either though. Anything not actually produced by Marvel doesn't look promising to me at this point.

Yeah... it's a shame Marvel (and by virtue, Disney?) can't get the rights back for Spider-Man. It's an injustice to the "universe" when they can't all play together.

I'm not sure I agree with that - the immediate reaction is "yes!" But, the Marvel Movie Universe is already getting crowded... and the lack of Spidey, the FF, or the X-Men might actually be a benefit by not forcing in more characters, creating more intertwining plotlines and inconsistencies.

Keeping thing's smaller might just be better.

I think having crossovers from other titles is actually a nice change of pace. Most, if not all movie franchises are pretty compartmentalized.
I definitely runs the risk of getting overwhelming but it can also open things up for a way to change things up instead of what seems to be becoming the standard formula of 3 movies = reboot. Instead of pidgeon holing a character in their own title, it allows them to still be used but not have to write an entire story dedicated to just them. Avengers proved this is not only possible but works great. It also gives some characters a device to either step out of the spotlight or move into it.

I just hope that if indeed Gwen dies, the aftermath is like the original comics; Spidey wanted for murder. Although if I remember correctly, in the comics, he was wanted for Norman's murder. But I hate the way they have crowds cheering on Spider-man. I liked it better when the cops were always hunting for him and the public did not like him. To me that was the greatness of Spider-man in the late 60s and early 70s. He was the hero no one wanted. It added so much depth to his character.

i love everything about this movie except 1 thing the goblin costume WTF? i personally don't think gwen will die in this unless we see norman turn into the goblin aswell in this film norman has to be the one to kill gwen

image.jpgClear view of the new Green Goblin. I'm just glad we're not getting a power ranger this time.
