The Amazing Spider-man 2 - 3D Print Files/Pattern - FREE

Hey guys, I've just sent off Kens pattern for print, I'm really looking forward to seeing how it comes out!
I'm not planning on doing a TASM 2 screen accurate replica so I'm not bothering with the shooters or soles. I decided to modify the face shell and lenses slightly to fit my face a bit better.
Once modified I had to split it up again for print... really hope my measurements are accurate :/
Let me know what you think!

Wow how did you do this?

Hey guys! I am so glad I found this site. You guys have a lot of good stuff going on here. Any chance there's a version of this face-shell without the holes for the eyes. I am in the process of making a Scarlet Spider costume and am planning to use custom made lenses.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I used 123dcatch to 'scan' my head, then took kens file into zbrush and modified it around my face (using subtool master to move all the objects together).
it printed pretty well actually!

I could probably patch in the eyes on kens file and send it to you. How do you plan on cutting them out? I doubt it'll be an easy job unless you have mad dremel skills ;)

anyone had any issues printing the faceshell in two pieces? once my printer starts it does not make contact with the build plate and just extrudes plastic everywhere. ive levele my build plate and it just doesnt make contact with this particular file. all the other files print fine. any thoughts?

Could be a few problems depending on what printer and software you are using.
First id start by checking the normals of the 3d file (if these are backwards then the printer might thing the object is 'inside out' - I've unintentionally made horrible booleans by doing this.
Then I'd triangulate the mesh, if there are faces that have more than 4 verts you may have problems with some software.
Last step make sure the file has its pivot centred all transforms are frozen and sits on the ground plane.
You can download meshmixer for free and import the file there then re export and it may fix your issue. (Check your scale though! Cura tends to shrink objects by 10%)

hope that helps

123dcatch? I'll have to look into that. The program I'm most familiar with is Cinema 4D.
Yours came out looking pretty amazing, looks like a nice fit.

You'd do that?! I'd be forever grateful haha :D. Well I was planning on using a dremel. The way I'm thinking of doing it, I don't need to shape the eyes exactly--just a hole big enough that I can see through comfortably.

Has anyone printed this and compared it to the new Zentai Zentai faceshell? Looking at the pictures makes me wonder if Zentai Zentai stole this file as it looks the same. Maybe I am just overly suspicious, but seeing as Orhadar's patterns have been taken in the past I think some scrutiny is warranted.

these files are free including the faceshell, they might just be printing his faceshell from the file but it doesn't mean it's stolen

Call it whatever you like. I have confirmation (from ZZ) that it is indeed a slightly modified version of my faceshell and lens. It IS true the files are free, but I really hate to see them mass produced and sold to the folks here. ... Luckily, they seem to be selling them at a reasonable price.

I'd be pretty annoyed at that tbh. Its within their rights to do so (being licensed etc) but morally you'd expect them to ask you first or at least let you know before they were mass produced! Additionally a bit of credit mentioned wouldve been nice.

Zentai Zentai, recasters of the digital age.

That should be their new tagline lol!

I'm having a similar problem when prinTing the top of the faceshell when splIt inTo three. The rest prints fine but once it gets to the top the model is printed extremely tHin to the point where it looks like one big mess. Any thoughts? Using the makerbot replicator 2 with rafts and support material turned on. This is the only piece I have had trouble with. Thanks

Take it into meshmixer and create some custom supports. Should do the trick

I will try that. Is it fairly simple to create those supports in that program? My printer naturally creates supports but with this particular file that supports are not very clean at all, they are very weak and messy which is why im sure the actual otem comes out incorrect.

Yes very easy, there are tutorials on youtube. I found the older version was better at automatically placing support but you can quickly add your own where you need

On another note, the print arrived Friday! I got it printed by a Citrus Rain (Since I'm in the UK otherwise I would've gone FOD). The quality is great, although I didn't do any sample prints before shelling out for the biggy which I wish I had since its a bit dark. This photo doesn't actually show the true colours too well. I'll share another post when its all done.
