Sorry for the double post, but I've been having some trouble with sewing and was hoping someone could offer some advice.

When putting the pieces of the mask together and sewing them, I can get the webbing to line up, but I still cannot for the life of me get everything symmetrical. For example, the two back pieces sewn together in the picture line up, but there is either overlap or underlap you could call it in various spots. Does anyone know how to make sure they come out evenly? Any help would be so far beyond appreciated...this is extremely frustrating trying to learn without being able to find much help.

Baste the pieces together, lining up the web intersections, before you sew them on the machine.

You can turn off the layers in Photoshop of whatever you don't want.

Ahh, I've been going slightly outside of the webs because that's what I gathered from a video showing how to sew up a suit. I guess that makes sense though; baste them in the middle and then they come out even. I'll give it a try, and if it works thank you so much!

Just about any craft/fabric store will have them. Tulip brand fabric paint is usually a go-to for most people it seems. There are a handful of options laid out in the guide provided in the first post.

Anyway, could anyone give some feedback on these colors? It's Ken's latest file, I've just modified the colors (both the red and blue) to hopefully be a little closer to screen accurate.

Have you seen the v3b printed from FOD?

I have come to the conclusion that there are SEVERAL factors involved in getting the colors perfect. One big one is the printer. I have gone back and forth with FOD to get just the right hues. Now if one were to take the SAME file and have it printed at ZZ or RPC etc... I GUARANTEE it will be different.

The ONLY way to get the colors the way you want (notice I DON't say screen accurate) is to have SEVERAL sample prints done at your printer of choice. Pick one and go with it.

Now as far as I know, the ONLY way to get film accurate color is to make the suit the way the way they did in the costume shop. Same materials, process, etc. Now if someone actually had a movie suit in hand, they COULD lay it next to several test swatches and try to achieve a similar effect... even then it would NOT be perfect.

That being said...good luck.

I know it won't ever be 100% perfect, and I have had 9 mask prints from FOD (the first set of 3 looked great, the last two prints have been on the wrong side of the fabric, so they've been way too dark). They look great, but I still think they're just a little too dark. I'm only experimenting with it, but I know your pattern is as close to perfect as I'll get! haha

Sadly my internet has been down for a few weeks, but here I am now! Here are some pics of my fully puff painted, Kenlandrum (I think it was V2), Tasm 2 suit with Tjack Faceshell/lens combo. I wore it to Emerald City Comicon and it was a blast!

You have to cut the space inbetween the web lines, and sew them together so it is just one line running down the center.

Hi again, I have a question if someone would like to answer. How are you supposed to sew the ends of the webbing that are located
in some places (blue circles in picture)? Are you supposed to include them in the pattern or should you just go with the other lines (red circles in other picture) as your sewing lines?

Okay, this might just be me, but the webbing on the arm (picture) doesn't line up. Is that were that arm is supposed to go or am I just wrong?

Also how in the world are you supposed to sew the hands and thumbs together. Because what ever way I turn them it doesn't match! Again might just be me, but please, help!

The arm doesn't connect to the chest. It connects to the end of that mask you've shown and to the back piece.

Have you seen this picture yet? It's on the first post and should help you with the sewing.
