I've got Photoshop......doesn't mean I can use it :)

Ill have to find some who can..

Finished my costume! It was a tight fit. Had to add an extra zipper so I could get in and out easily. Toughest part was sewing the gloves; now that I am finished I can easily nail down the sewing for the next costume. I also made a costume for my son. He is Baby Venom. He did not like wearing the mask nor gloves so I cut those out in the final suit. I cut the eye hole on my mask a little wide, but that can be fixed by shifting the mask lower over the face shell. By the way, I used Ken's files for the suit, face shell, and lens frames. I made the lens myself.

Updated Junkyard post here!

Okay, so here's my first attempt at a ASM2/symbiote hybrid - the plan is to puffy the black webbing on the "red" sections and the bricks on the "blue" sections

Have tried to match the size of the spider logo to that of the comic symbiote - but am struggling a bit to see where to place it

Can't seem to make the back spider any wider though

Thoughts?

kenlandrum: Thanks for your help 3 weeks back! Turns out you were right that the suit was printed incorrectly. I am getting another one printed as I'm typing this. I have another question however. I am trying to get the STL spiders 3D printed, but when I sent them to the printer, the person told me that the spiders were 0.35mm thick and about 12.7mm long. How large are they supposed to be?

Thanks!

Also I am combing through all 89 pages of this thread and dozens of others and creating a very detailed guide for people in the future to make this costume. When I finish my own costume, I will release the guide :)

size sounds right but I would double check how it would fit in photoshop. Good to hear they are reprinting it for ya. They seem like a pretty decent outfit.

Anyone got any tips on compressing the pattern to send to a printer to be printed? My printer wants the file to be around 100mb

I cant' imagine compressing 175mb to under 100 unless you change the resolution. But of course changing the resolution will soften the details.

same res??

Nice work!

I'm fairly sure it is :)

I just created a new layer in the Tiff file and applied the image onto the new layer, I then created a new document same size and resolution and pasted the applied layer into it :)

If anyone has any recommended changes to it let me know

That's awesome.... I gotta try it on the master and re-post.

Thanks for the tip!

I'm getting my shoe soles printed in a flexible plastic called NinjaFlex. It's a rubber with a hardness of 85A shore (about as hard as a shoe heal).

I want to know your opinions about the color. In the movie, the sole is a light beige color, but the closest NinjaFlex comes is a gold-ish color. I was thinking of going with the gold, but black is also a possibility.

Light beige? The soles of the shoes in the film are black, edging on a very dark gunmetal gray. I've examined one of the screen-used stunt suits used in the movie in person--the sole is black.

For some reason I thought that this was beige. Maybe I was just looking at the edge which seems to be a lighter color (probably just the lighting)...

haha, that's just the light hitting it, mate. Same as the webs on the boot just above it, which are also black, but are reflecting a lot of light in the photo.

There's actually two layers to the sole--A very thin layer, which is red, and then the final thicker layer on top of that, which is black. On the hero suit, the red layer shows through the holes on the bottom of the outer sole. On the stunt suit, the outer sole has no holes.
