The Amazing Spider-man 2 - 3D Print Files/Pattern - FREE

Where do you print it, can you upload the file of you , look the color is great, do the brick pattern still show up good, and do the suit have muscle shade

I've been lurking around this thread for a good while now, this is my first ever post :) First off let me just say, kenlandrum, you sir are a fine example of some of very generous and talented members of this forum; thank you so much for distributing these files, open source, for free! Incredible!
Also, cha0tic, that suit looks epic! I'm so jealous that you have close friends who are taylors...
See, I really want to print this suit too but I'm scared about the cost of hiring someone like TrophyWife (I think I heard $300?) and I know that's cheap compared to some and that she does a flawless job... but I'm 17 and not exactly rolling in dollah.

Where I live there is a seamstress who's had a shop in town for as long as I can remember... she's sort of a family friend too,

Although these Kenlandrum's prints are going to be like the cheapest anywhere, its the seamstress that seems to really bulk up the price! I can't really find any threads about how to sew together a spiderman costume (does anyone know?), maybe if I had those I could give them to my local seamstress.

Thanks guys,
haha

Probably wouldn't save money by sending this to shapeways right?

Go to makexyz.com, submit your postcode and check out what nearby 3D printers there are;
I managed to find one for 15p/cm3 (25 cents)

Here's a little comparison page for shapeways' materials that I thought might be useful: 3D Printing Materials Comparison Sheet
I'm sure that shapeways do a great job, but maybe for something like a facemask it is seemingly too pricey in this case (seeing as its something that simply gets hidden!), maybe those lenses would be a good idea to print as shapeways if you were going to.

Just as an info for european ppl. Lsprints is great. The colors are awesome. The polyester spandex is slick and soft and there is almost no white coming thru when stretched. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399034507.712820.jpg

Not sure about the reds. Too many options. Lol.
Price is 23£ a meter as far as i remember.
For the red i decide between those:
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399035376.871988.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1399035398.472003.jpg this one is pretty purpleish in rl. But the movie suit looks lile that sometimes. Lol

For the bricks i go with one of those:

The fabric is thinner than from FOD but the fabric threads are more slick and closer together. U almost dont see then and it looks like a full surface which i love very much. It feels almost like satin :)

Hi, can someone point me on how you print those files? As LSprint have a wide area of 57" and FOD i think is 59", but if i open the psd file it's 72,561" width that is too much.
So what are the steps to do that? maybe if i cut the two red stripes on the sides?
Thank you very much Ken and to the others for all the info...

Weather u use a photoediter and cut the tif file urself or u contact them and tell them to do it ;)

Don't know where to use them i read for gussets but don't understand.
I tried to cut those but it don't fit, i'm trying to rearrange (cut and move) the arms closer.
How you will print this?

Erm. I dont see the problem. How about cutting it and upload it in several files to them?

My plan is to make 2 zippers and left like 4 inches free on the back and front so it stays strechy.
Then i edit the suit that the whole "belt" can be flipped over the zipper. If u look close on some pics of tje movie suit it looks like the front part of the belt is flipped over the blue pants too.
I will try it that works :)

THAT is exactly what I was trying to do Aron Wohlfart ! From the Hi-Res reference photos I have seen anyway, it appears that is what they did for the real suit. With this idea I started calling places.

I finally had a rare opportunity to speak with someone who knew what I was trying to do. She sells zippers and takes part in Hollywood Costumes. She basically stated the same thing as Luna. And that the #6 s
eparating jacket type invisible zipper is a much bigger variety and not suggested for use in U-zip patterns as it limits movement, stretch and can bunch.

In that respect, a hidden zipper across the hip /belt line makes sense. The hidden zipper coming down from the back spider looks to be the same variety and completes the T-shape design.

In the movie it looks like just the fromt part of the belt is flipped over. On some pics u also see the end of the crotch zipper which means the belt mived up abit when he sits down or goes on his knees.

I will talk with my seamstress how its the best way when i bring her my other suit.
