The Amazing Spider-man 2 - 3D Print Files/Pattern - FREE

Hi everyone! First off, all your work is amazing and kenlandrum, all of your posts have been extremely helpful :) Thanks so much :D
kenlandrum: I have used your file and told Fabric On Demand that I am 6' tall. They said it would be no problem to print and about 1.5 months ago I received the costume. I have since been meticulously puffy painting the webbing on the costume and am finally done! :D But (here is the problem) when I cut out the sleeve and pinned it together in order to start sewing, it won't fit and I am freaking out like crazy.

Above, I measured the length of the costume between the two blue lines (as described by you here: http://www.therpf.com/f78/spider-man-raimi-3d-print-files-pattern-free-207565/index2.html) and it's about 31" which translates into a size for people between 5'9" and 6'1". The other picture shows the wrist of the sleeve which is the narrowest part at about 5" wide. My hand needs to fit through there which is about 9" in circumference at the widest part. I am 6' at 170lbs so I think I'm pretty average height/weight ratio. No adult has a hand with a circumference of 5", so nobody would be able to fit into that sleeve... What am I doing wrong???

This is how I am sewing it:

I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks :)

I have yet to assemble this yet, but I am curious how much stretch do you get when you do the puff paint first? I guess I always imagined doing it after the suit was sewn.

The wrist area can stretch from about 5" to about 8". Any more than 8.5" and I think the fabric might tear. The puffy paint doesn't seem to be the limiting factor as far as the stretch is concerned. Also of note, I did puff paint the fabric stretched out on a foam board so that might have helped it stretch.

In the sewing picture I attached, is that how the arm is intended to be sewn?

Hmmm. I'm stumped. I've seen others with zippers there but it should not be a necessity. I am sure other builders will chime in real soon.

this suit is not the same as a asm1 suit which is a bitch to put on after being fully puff painted especially the arms ... since this suit is mostly webbing on the arms it is not that big of a deal...should stretch just fine...

When I measure my original file this is what I get. Yours looks to be squished (top to bottom in the photo shown). Could be the angle of your photo, but the measurements don't lie... something is wrong on your print....

This pic looks to be squished too.
As if the scale is ok from top of head to belt bottom, but the file somehow got scaled the other way only.

The fabric does not have to be stretched to puff paint it at all. The paint stretches more that the fabric does.
I just stretched a tiny bit so the fabric stays in place when i paint it. And i would wash the fabric before. Could be that the paint peels off when stretched when its not prewashed.

To put on the suit is a pain to me. Its a matter of size.
I got me an underarmor to wear so the fabric doesnt stick on my skin n i can slide the suit over the fabric of the underarmor (kinda like andrew did on set)

Hey guys, I have a quick question. (FYI: new to RPF so sorry if I don't know much)
I don't know if this has been addressed in the previous 85 pages in this thread, but I was wondering if Ken had another .jpg file for the "Spider-Man 2004 (Raimi version)" with the spider symbols attached on the front and back such as he did for the "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" file version?
ps: I know that he gave all the files necessary to edit them onto there myself but I have no clue how to do so or which program to use. I like the Raimi version better cause of the spectacular muscle shading so if someone would be kind enough to either make a .jpg file with the spider symbols on or teach me how to do it myself that would be awesome. :D
(Push comes to shove I'll just print the "TASM 2" version)

U can look in his threat for the raimi suit pattern.
But the muscles can be edited in this version here too.

And all photoediters work.
Photoshop, gimp etc.

I think cha0tic covered this already. If you ask him real nice maybe he'll help you out. Either way though you should become at least familiar with photoshop just in case you wanna edit some things.

Photoshop to edit it and, could someone do a jpeg of just the mask incase someone wanted to make a mask only?

Alright guys, think I'm going to stick with this as my final version. Color reminds me of brads suit he's working on.

Are you by chance planning on selling or giving these print files out like the generous Ken did? I was hoping to find one of the Raimi versions with the spider symbols on front and back like you have here, but the free files come without them. I would edit them on myself but I have no clue how to use photoshop. If you're not willing to part with them then some pointers on how to edit the spiders onto the Raimi suit or the muscle shading onto the TASM 2 suit would be awesome.
Thanks

I can give you the first version I did of the raimi suit with the spiders intact if you would like. As that version isn't needed and it wasn't heavily tweaked all I did was add the spiders and altered the colored a bit unlike my final version.
The difference between them, you would be getting the top version.as the second version I'm not giving out.

****ing A, that would be great! :D
That first version is exactly what I was looking for and is more than enough dude. Also, I give you props for your darker color scheme on the 2nd version. Makes it look grittier and badass. I will try to get into photoshop so I won't have to bug everyone about this stuff in the future. Thanks again!

No problem buddy! And thanks I'll send it to you in a bit.
