where did the flight suits come from?

I just had my usual tailor try his hand at them. He used a stretch vinyl fabric. When my wife saw mine she wanted one for herself. So i guess we're sharing the prototype Tie armor.

I'm not really planning on selling the suits, since i'm a bit nervous about remote fitting. But i can ask my guy what measurements he needs and to give a quote.

looks real good! for some reason, i like the Sideshow Collectibles flightsuit better, since it isnt as shiny

Exactly! I was all set to have it made in ripstop cloth until i saw the official costume. My first reaction was that it looked like a gimp suit and that it would be too hot to wear. Well, after seeing it in person, it looks amazingly more like leather than cheap vinyl, and not bad at all. Still hot to wear though. But yes, i still wish it was ripstop.

Great thread so far and the suits look really good. I'm building the same outfit as well and was planning on using ripstop to look more like the 1/6 figure.

Thanks! I hope to have your kit ready by this week. Picking up the armor tomorrow. I can't seem to find the gloves in black. How does one paint/die leather gloves black without it rubbing off/running/cracking?

Thanks! I ordered a few surplus russian gas mask hoses to see if they will be suitable. They were very cheap.

Awesome news Jim! They don't come in black as they were designed to be desert/Warm climate lightweight combat gloves. I bought a pair online and will try the dye out and let you know how it goes!
