TFA dead padawan's lightsaber (spoiler warning)

This would have been a great scene. Why cut it? Unless it would spoil a surprise in Ep. VIII? Did you read this scene in the novel? Or the script? I've gotta read the novel anyway.
It was already confirmed that the scene with the knights of ren was not at lukes academy though.

Some people are saying that the Knights of Ren part of Rey's vision wasn't the past...

sorry for the late replies guys. i have been so excited about this all day, i found it early this morning and couldnt stop thinking about it, all because of that rumored scene was now proven to be real!

i am totally confused as well guys, i will tell you what. after devoting 6 years of my life, living and breathing JJ's LOST series i have learned he lies about everything. every season of lost was predicted, asked if it was going to happen, JJ say no, and guess what... it happened! he lied to us 4 times at least in LOST. then he lied AGAIN in Star Trek, " no thats not khan!" ...... yup big surprise in theaters... NOT...

Pablo tweeted ( and i dont tweet, or even know where to begin on starting, is tweeting a Facebook action?) that its somewhere else... BUT

i strongly believe this is misconception... he doesnt say its NOT the jedi academy students. possibly a field trip or little mission for them... or even... just maybe Luke saw of kylo's turn to the dark side and sent his students hiding on a different planet... and kylo ends up finding them and slaughtering them

thats a theory i believe works..

but also, i think film wise... they could have had a plan that it was the students, they made the saber, they shot the scene with it in the mud and then decided to go a whole different route? the students laying in the mud could now be changed to the students in the mud but those students are now a clan, and kylo executed the clan leader. we dont see enough detail to believe who is exacting laying in the mud, heck i can't tell the difference between rocks and bodies in that scene LOL

this theory can also be played off now as the future vision because again we can't identify the bodies

so film wise they could have changed it.

case and point these guys are sneaky... all of pablo's interviews after the star wars rebels show are very misleading, and he enjoys torturing us.. look at how much fun he had at the CE panel... all smiles making us guess lol

i read this somewhere on the internet a LONG time ago. it was before the movie came out, but after the trailer we got with the appearance of the knights. nothing official, it is quite possible that the scene was meant to be at the academy, or on other planet. i remember reading about the saber scene, because they also believe kylo was holding another saber in his left hand ( which i think now was proven to be his hem seams)

i remember going into the theater knowing the rumor was there was the scene with the knights murdering the students and being so interested in props was dying to see the students saber... but never saw it

this is another reason why I'm just so excited over it, it is very plan looking but i want it!!

before i go any further, maybe i should spoiler tag this... it explains alittle more on why i believe its lukes students

i also find it very very odd, that now the people who were cast for the people laying in the mud, were also recast... the cast consists of very young, to teenage men and women... i strongly believe we will learn these are his students..

there is also the debate of the huge castle in the back ground when the light flashes, if you guys haven't read any theories on that there are some good ones!

Saw this the other day - thought it was a hoax - but, still had to try to model it. Not exact, but pretty close considering there's no known dimensions ;)

I thought it looked like a droid part, from maybe an R2 unit

amazing job!! please tell me... did you see another picture? it had the same emitter as this one, but it was smooth all the way down, had a very small control box and i believe a red and blue button near the top next to the emitter? the control box was tiny and in the middle..??

Thanks! I hope more details of this emerge soon, I'd love to get it a little closer to "accurate".

The saber you describe sounds vaguely familiar, but I've read so much and viewed so many lightsabers over the past 12 months, I couldn't say for sure where I think I saw it. Now I'm going to have start searching

i saw a youtube video with the other saber, i can't remember what video and have googled searched the heck out of it... makingstarwars.com sounded like more then 1 was made

For Star Wars: The Force Awakens there were props made for the dead/dying padawans on the set. We were sent this photo of these props from The Force Awakens back during the production of that film. The photos show that they built props for Jedi to be used in the flashback sequence of that film:

Sabers like this were made and versions in resin were also constructed for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If these things are being interpreted correctly, we could be seeing something like the saber above in Star Wars: Episode VIII. If correct, it would seem the details of the flashback sequence were held back in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and saved for elaboration in Episode VIII.

Pablo also said something like "It's not an Academy" so he either meant it happens somewhere else, or it's a smaller or less official teaching environment. I think he's just being intentionally vague.
