Tekkaman Blade 1:1 helmet.

Hi Guys

This thread is going to follow the build of a 1:1 Tekkaman Blade Helmet.

I have tried a few times over the past couple of years to make a replica Tekkaman Blade helmet. i failed on 3 different builds then i started again but went down the 3d printed path. I found a 3d molder over at Creative Conceptz who did a great job of the model with what limited animated pics i could find and gave him.





I then got a mate of mine to 3D print the parts out. who has sent the parts to me.


I will post again when they arrive and i start working on it.

Iam hoping the prints come in over the next week or so. I know iam going to have to watch the series again while i build it ha ha ha.

After come closer inspection of the ears i noticed that the 3d printer skipped and morphed the prints. I have spoke to my 3d printer guy and he is reprinting the ears again. He finished one and here is the pick of it.


He said it would take him another week to finish printing them off and then he will ship them to me.

So it turns out my printer guy decided to print out a 1/3 scale helmet too to send to me but it looks more like 1/2 scale.

So the package came in yesterday and iam over the moon with the quality. I will start work on them once i have move house this weekend. More update photos to come in the following weeks.

I got the chance to work on the 1:1 ears today and they are huge. Each one is 54.5 cm long i used some green stuff to join the parts together seen as i had a heap laying around. Two of the green prints had cracks from where it didn't set right while it was 3D printed.

I got some time to add some filler to the outside of the ears.

I got some more work done on the two helmets today.

After re-watching a few episodes i noticed a ridge on the top of the helmet and the eyebrow detail lacking / not as defined as it should be. I have added two layers of box cardboard to build up the edge then i puddied up to it. i also added a ton of bondo on the eyebrow edge.

I got some time to quickly pin the ears to the helmet and it is looking good. I also noticed the crest on the top of the head wasn't deep enough so i extended it.

So i added some spray paint to see all the little imperfections then quick layer of spot puddy.

Ok so sanded, sprayed and second coat of spot puddy on the helmet the first coat on one ear.

I am so over the moon at the moment with the build. I added lugs on the ears so i can attach the ears after painting. It looks AMAZING!! i can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
