What kind of piece is this around the egg slicer?

EFx Snowspeeder arrived. Yoda will move when the RS AT-AT helmet arrives to keep most of the Hoth items grouped together. Still working on the Hoth MGC blaster, so the Bespin is there for now to fill in he space.

They do indeed look great!
teecrooz have you posted or would you post your process to detail them? I've seen many people finishing these and I'm curious how you did it.
Halliwax get back to bed!

Thanks! So far they have just received a few watered down acrylic washes. I paint it in all the recesses, let it sit for a few minutes and then try to wipe it all away. Then a similar approach for the main body. A full wash but then immediately wipe it all away. I only do a little at a time and let it build up. Each time I get his new saber, the others get another wash if I feel it needs it. The Mace Windu has received the most washes and a heavier coat in the grip and around the buttons to try to match what I saw in the promo pics.

As for the bar LEDs, I went onto eBay and purchased some real LED bars, you need to sand them to be shorter to fit in the recess, but I think it helps make them look more like the originals to use the real part.

teecrooz thank you!

I had started this project to make the gun flippable to match either orientation on the skyhopper. I originally kept the main base and slid some brass over it. Now I fully swapped out the base on the Disney skyhopper for all brass. I know I have too many knurled nuts on there, but they did move over time, so I have one in each location. I’ll do some of the other mods later. Update the decals, add a real heat sink and some real model parts where I can. Thanks Edraven99 for the push to finish what I started.
