This is my first thread here on the RPF. I had my account open for a while but I really did not post anything. I got this kit almost a year a go and after some time working on it on and off I decided to show the final results on this forum.
For this helmet I tried to replicate the "used" look of the Tantive IV stormtroopers. Everything is hand painted , no stickers of any kind. There few things I could improve but overall I am happy with the results.

Thanks fo looking

A

The quality of the helmet as well as the quality of the photos are superb!

:thumbsup

I once again bow down for your painting skills, Armando!
One of the best paintjobs i´ve seen so far! Thanks for sharing! :love:thumbsup

Always see the typical oncreen weathering on troopers.

I prefer the actual studio heavily used up look you chose. Nice work.

Hey Gents, thanks for your very kind kind words :cheers. I trully appreciate it . I know is not easy to come out with a convincing beat look and please everybody. Sometimes it feels much or sometimes feel a bit short in details. I have been doing researches about the beat up look and most of the people goes for the "aged" look what is fine with me; that is the reason why I picked the "used" look resembling the way the helmets looked at the end of the shooting of ANH
Related the fine marks I read before somewhere about the newspaper technique. I gave it a try a while back ago and results are not very convincing to me. For this helmet I used different pieces of brow and neck rubber trim so I can recreate differents strokes. I aso used charcoal on some of the edges.
With this technique I found way more control than the newspaper one and if you are unhappy with the results is very easy to remove the scurfs and go back to the mint look.

Again thank you very much for looking and your great feedback. :)
Cheers

A
