Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

So glad this thread is going strong :) so new stats for me started originally at 206 lbs then to 137 lbs now at 142 at 10% BF. started the shrink wrap process on my body so now its time for serious bulk. After a week, Im seeing nice build but I need to work the hell out of my abs more.
Keep up the good work everyone!!!!

Wow, that's impressive! Great job! How long did it take you to get there, if you don't mind me asking?

Losing the weight is the hardest part in my opinion.... but then again, i haven't tried to really bulk up yet, so i don't know how hard and how long that's going to be!

initial weight loss took me 6 months to complete on a low cal diet mixed with cardio. Which after I was at 149 but still at 14 % body fat. 3 months ago I was at my lowest at 137 lbs at 10% body fat.

Back up to 142 now with moderate working-out. Switched up my routine now to massively weight train. hoping to get back up to 150 but at 8%

P.S. Excuse the dick in the box dancing photo lol but I thought it should how lean I was. :lol:lol:lol

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Anybody going for Man of Steel? I've tried to find what Cavill did to get that big, but I can't find it anywhere (so most likely steroids)

but he's massive.

anyone know how to get big like that?

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Yes I need cardio, yes I hate it, P90X cardio made me puke! I've been wanting to do something but just not committing. I get 6 hours or less sleep a night and I eat once a day and that's at night. Work is stressful and busy in an office most of the time. So i'm the prime example of what not to do.
To top it off I'm cheap, and I found trying to do the Adkins diet "i know it's bad" that eating to loose weight can be expensive.

yes, you should be the poster child of doing it all wrong. :)

1. Figure out how to get your 8 hours of sleep.

2. get over the commitment issues, it is your life after all.

3. Get those 6 smaller meals a day in, spaced and balanced.

4. IF cardio made you puke or want to, then you were doing it right.
It's not a workout if someone isn't puking or about to.

That need to puke will go away in time.

as that Cable Guy says....Git 'r done!

You can get that big but prolly need a personal trainer, Dietist and allot of people who stimulate your body to get the max muscle growth with minimal time.

Or you can just eat 6 meals a day. Get over 2000/2500 calories a day. Because your muscles need al the nutrien it can get. Work out atleast 2/3 hours with days in between. So work out monday and rest tuesday. Also try to change your exersise routine atleast once a week.

But try not to push your self to hard your body can only take so much.
To get that body without personal trainers requires allot of persistance and time to create.
I for instance don't have the time to regulate my workout the way i want to.

(I like to point out that this information i found out in the interwebs. I am no personal trainer of dietist what so ever.)
Ask a profesional for better and accurate information :D

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Ive been doing natural bodybuilding for about 7 years with a 1 year break due to injury (weightlifting isnt without risk :) ) and i must say that if you put your mind into it and have the necesarry knowledge you can achieve alot. No use of steroids or any kind of drug enhancing product is needed. Ofc your diet, rest and training is very important.

My routine when it was before a contest or off season was about the same apart from the diet. I had 2 days of rest and the rest was dedicated to training and Cardio. As for meals i tried to have a meal every 3 hours (sometimes 2hours depending on my previous meal). Ofc i had to combine this with my job so often i replaced a meal with a proteine shake.

I have to disagree with a lot of this.

PUSH yourself hard. The body can take a lot of punishment. I go to a Crossfit Gym, it is wicked hard, brutal and exhausting. 1 hour per day, I go 5-6 days a week.

Not only am I not having muscle fatigue/plateau issues like you are always hearing about, but I'm working out harder now than when I started and loving every second of it.

Also, the whole 'leg day' 'chest day' 'arms days' routines are a lot of nonsense and are slower progress than daily shifting of routines.... like Crossfit uses.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

honestly, to tell everyone the truth, it all depends on genetics. everyone can be healthy and look fit and muscular, but you can't look EXACTLY like someone else if you don't have the same type of body as them.
like let's use this as an example: I'm 6' foot tall, i usually way around 168-171 pounds (i vary each day... idk why). But anyway, i could get practically anorexic skinny and i would never look like Andrew Garfield. why? because I'm just not naturally built tall and super duper long. I am built thin and muscular, but I'm just not shaped the same as someone like Garfield. I build bigger muscles instead of more lean muscles (which when it comes to Spider Man, thats okay because in each comic series and movie, he varies in his height, build, and weight. so theres a Spidey for everyone that is fit!). So i just wanted to let everyone know not to compare themselves to someone like Garfield. If your built really skinny naturally and lanky, then you can look like him, but for people with a more average athletic build like myself, you have to just understand that you aren't built that way. Trust me on this, it doesnt mean your not as muscular or fit as Garfield, you just aren't the same build :)

I actually do all that stuff already, except i eat around 3500 calories a day. weight gains come slow to me, i'm just built skinny.

just realized most people here are trying to cut to get to their perfect body size.. and i'm trying to bulk just to get to Garfield's body type :confused

as someone who has had to love weight a lot before (i used to wrestle) it really helps to work out in an area that is very hot, stay in the 10-14 rep range, and focus on eating whole foods. of course most people probably know this already but thats my two cents, if it helps!

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Happy Holidays everyone! If you're smarter than me, you'll probably watch your calories a bit and not cause too much damage to your progress. Me, on the other hand am only on 2 of being home visiting the family back at my parents house and have probably gained about 5 pounds already. Oh well, guess I'll have to go harder with the diet/cardio when I get back. but for now...let the feast begin! Much love to everyone. be safe and have a merry christmas and awesome new year's.

This is probably the most dangerous place ever for Spidey---the kitchen during the holidays!

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

I started my work out schedule in November.
I've been doing weights, abb crunches, jogging and usually 15 - 20 minutes on the rowing machine everyday. I have been drinking plenty of milk and i'm eating lots of protien.
I'm mainly concentrating building up some muscle on my chest and arms since I workout my legs pretty much all the time.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

I'm 17, 6 ft, and 125 lbs.

I've been working on my arms by doing curls with 20 lbs dumbbells, any other workout advice? I need to bulk up ALOT to look right in a Spidey suit

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Okay, I am a very happy person right now.
Just weighed myself, and I'm at 167 pounds (being 6 foot tall).
still working on building muscle, but I can most definitely see my abs completely now.
Now of course, a six pack is very very far away, but you can see both sides of my abs and a small line over my belly button lol. Two pack i guess? hahaha :D

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

167 is my current weight now too...but I am not that happy because I was 159 a month ago. The holidays were full of overindulging. I'm a short guy so I need to be down in the 150's at least. I'll be starting up my regimen again today. I have a b-day coming up and I want to feel younger, not older!

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Don't feel bad Fett I gain 10 lbs back and I had just lost 50.

I went to a con was the dreaded fat spiderman :( but i wanted to wear it haha!!!

Well don't feel too bad, it shouldn't take you too long to lose that weight! its only 8 pounds!
I must say, running is the fastest way to lose weight. Do that 3-5 times a week, and man that weight will be gone in no time! :D

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

im 5'7.5 and weighed 160 but im pretty thin since ill be starting my suit soon i want to get inshape as i have a little pudge in a few areas and not much definition so i started eating 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast (read on line that eggs have some chemical in them that boosts metabolism and keeps you full longer) after i eat breakfast i stretch my legs, back and stomach then i do a few push ups while doing a handstand against a door(i know it sounds crazy but i can do it lol) then the next time i get hungry i eat something full of protein to build muscle only been doing it for about 4 days and ive already dropped 9 lbs and my stomach slimmed up a good amount so thats what ill stick to

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Never posted in here but I made it my goal if I was gonna do spidey I was gonna do it right. When I started I was 205 (I'm 5'11) which was like the end of August. Then in October I thought I was acceptable to suit up for Halloween and I was 185. Since then I've kept up my routine an now I'm down to 170. Hoping to lose a bit more and get more defined for July. (going to a con with a new spidey suit!)
