Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Hi Guys,

I think this is a great thread and everyone should have a read of it. Very good information here. One thing I have noticed that if you go to gym without a goal then you tend to make sloe/little progress. I have begun my Iron man build and although I have never be a heavy set guy (heaviest was 85kg) it is always good to have a reason to keep in shape/fit.

Eventually I would like to make a Spider-man costume and look the part so I would just need to bulk up some muscle (not a lot) and get my abs to really pop.

Also you guys are looking very good so keep up the good work.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

This has nothing to do with Spider-man, but similarly, I too have started altering my physicality to match a costume.

I hope to go as Nicholson's Joker next year and as such, I have started a regiment of eating fried foods (4 whole chickens, mostly), lots of ice cream and pizza (they make a great combo), smothering everything in chocolate, drinking only whole milk, and when I get tired of it all and need to go for a healthy snack...

Cookies. Lots of cookies.

This is costume building at "Movie Star" level :lol but a little dangerous :facepalm

I did that one year cause I wanted to be Nacho Libre for Halloween Lol. I guess both sides of the spectrum are dangerous when you go to extremes. Just ask this guy who's gone up and down for roles.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Quick question for all of yall! over the summer i lost about 15 pounds making me 6' tall and 176-178 pounds (some where between that). I am totally happy with my weight and am now ready to get my spidey suit ready. but, i would like to build up my abs just so they will finally show now that Ive gotten thin. whats the best way to work your abs?

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

A variety of crunches is best exercise for abs. With crunches you can train your 6 pack and also the side muscles if you desire (Ab coach is handy to perform the different postions of cruches but not necessary). Thats basicly just a basic ab training wich should be more then enough.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Abs are made in the kitchen.

I've tried Intermittent Fasting before. I simply could not hit my caloric intake and felt like I was trying to CRAM food in. You have 8 hours to get in for me 2500kcal. Rough...I backed off of it and am on Carb Nite.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

^yeah, ive started doing the ab ripper X on p90x and some other ab workouts, and those definitely hurt like crap (which is great). about the eating, I actually eat really well. I don't eat fried foods, candy, or anything with high fat. actually, i think everything in my house is either low fat, low calories, or all natural.... so i think im good in that department.

Well, if you can't see your abs, it is a bodyfat issue.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Well, it is most definitely not a body fat issue. if anything, ive gotten too skinny.
can i see them? yes of course i can, very clearly. but the real question is do i want them bigger? yes
Figured i should add this as well, I'm a cross country runner, so ive got my cardio exercises down. and like i said, i don't want to lose any more weight at all, i just want to get my abs bigger.
Edit: Just got tested for body fat actually... so my status is actually 6'foot tall, around 170 pounds, and my body fat is a little over 10% ( i cant remember the exact number, but less than 11). so supposedly thats good actually.... from what i was told, it was that most people will say you have to be 6-8% in body fat, but thats not true. supposedly, i should be able to have a "six pack" by 6 weeks. so not too bad, if i do say so myself.

My ab routine involves crunches, leg raises (the kind you do on the dip bars), and sometimes planks. It's worked pretty well so far, but like people on here have said, I need to work on my cardio to get rid of the fat. In your case though, I'd just do bunches of these exercises. If I can see results from doing them, I'm sure they'll work for you too. Good luck!

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Well if you got the training sorted and the diet then only thing left is cardio. That is also quite important especially when wanting to lower bodyfat all you can do is follow a strict diet and do lots of cardio.

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

This should really be a sticky! great job El Fett, Kudos to you all, I'm 6'4 230 lbs. I found this site looking at a Halo build, I've got the 37 year old beer gut, course i don't have a spidey build nor do I aspire to have one. I've pondered what I could do but nothing short of "the thing" or "fat man" comes to mind. I used to work out but only got larger in muscle size, the gut stayed.
Yes I need cardio, yes I hate it, P90X cardio made me puke! I've been wanting to do something but just not committing. I get 6 hours or less sleep a night and I eat once a day and that's at night. Work is stressful and busy in an office most of the time. So i'm the prime example of what not to do.
To top it off I'm cheap, and I found trying to do the Adkins diet "i know it's bad" that eating to loose weight can be expensive.
Keep it up guys, thanks! you make me want to change my life! :)

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Spidey has been a great source of motivation to stay fit since I have to wear the costume many times a year. I'm 5.8" 165 lbs. going on a strict diet to tone down those ABS.

Gerardo

Looking good G.!!

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

Keep up the great work everyone! If costuming keeps you motivated to stay in your best shape then it's costuming for life!!!

thanks pal! yeah, ive started a kind of "workout chart" and the abs i do 4 times a week are planks, leg raises (laying down), heels to the heavens, the iron cross, crunches, and then 30 push ups with my abs tightened . And on one of the days, i add in the p90x abs. and all the specific exercises i listed i do for one minute, i dont do sets. usually, a minute really makes it tough.

Phew, you do all that and your abs still aren't popping? If they aren't now, I'm sure they will be soon. Good luck!

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

So glad this thread is going strong :) so new stats for me started originally at 206 lbs then to 137 lbs now at 142 at 10% BF. started the shrink wrap process on my body so now its time for serious bulk. After a week, Im seeing nice build but I need to work the hell out of my abs more.
Keep up the good work everyone!!!!
