Hi there, for anybody interested in how my TARDIS project is going (see original thread)
http://www.therpf.com/f11/trying-make-latex-mold-metal-tardis-96645/
I took everybodys advice.
I built a LEGO mold box, used Smooth-On's MoldStar rubber and Cast in Smooth-Cast 300.
Although i've never used any of these, or similar products before, I found them very easy to use and gave great results.
At first I tried casting in dental plaster, which resulted in a finished item that was covered in bubbles in the fine detailing, so I gave up and decided to use Smooth-On plastic.
The end result is great, with only a couple of bubbles that are easily fillable.
My only problem, is that a couple of areas on the plastic are a little bit sticky, could this be a mixing problem with the resin?
thanks for all your help, here's a photo.
The original metal master on the far left, then the bubbly plaster version, then my new plastic copy on the right.
