Tamiya logo on the hero X wings!

Hey guys

OK i need some help here, im searching for the star logos that are used on the Red 2 and Red Leader props.
So far, ive check all my kit decalsheets, ive had buddies and family doing the same, but im coming up empty sadly.
Anyone know what decal they used, i thought it may be one of the cormer copyright logo stars, but they all seem to be black, not red/blue.
RC decal sheets also are turning up useless too. Im maybe leaning toward the theory that the decal was part of a sponsor deal on maybe a period F1 or gp race bike as its so small, then cut from the sheet and added to the ILM models.
Flint i saw you had one on your Red 2, any idea where you got hold of it?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

hey Lee. Its payback time. :) theres only two places to get the decals your looking for and that is www.jbot.ca and SSM, if ssm doesnt have them in stock then you will have to order from Jimbo, and it will take about 4 weeks to reach you, i know mine did.

Could you just scan the logo off a Tamiya box and print it on decal paper or even a thin adhesive label type paper?

Jerry thanks buddy, but to waste the rest of that sheet would be nuts if there in short supply.
Rob its looking like its going that way, my cousin has however found some apparently that are close from how he describes, ill get more info later today.

I made mine. Cut squares of red and black from some spare decals and took dry transfer stars, put them all together and

Tamiya makes a sheet of nothing but their logos - all sizes and shapes. It's not generally distributed in their kits, but it's something of a promo item. I didn't think they made them back then. I picked up one of those sheets about 5 years ago when we got a tour of the Tamiya factory. Let me dig it up this weekend and see what I can do.

Any idea of size?

Gene

PS - their logo is white stars on red and blue squares

Gene that sounds fantastic, size wise, im guessing around 6mm or so, im taking that from the bad ref available and the size of the panel on the cans.
I have lots of Tamiya RC decal scraps from years back, and not a peep of what im looking for, the thing is, it drives me nuts as i know ive seen them at one point or another lol.
Flint you did a great job on the homemade ones, thanks for chiming in buddy.

You, know, the funny thing is - I got the decal sheet in order to include them as an 'in joke' on some future model.

Guess someone beat me to it.

Lee, most of the markings on my Moonraker shuttles were done this way. I printed directly onto Avery brand clear label "paper". Its slightly thicker than decal paper, but works out ok, especially on smaller markings.

Foj thanks for the input, i may have them on the way, apparently my cousin has found some from a Tamiya Kenny Roberts suzuki, he's into bike kits lol.
Fingers crossed, but he reckons they will do the job nicely. I didnt really wanna go down the road of making them, especially if they turn out pretty thick on aves.

Still looking for mine. But that appears to be the correct logo for that period. They later deleted the circle an just went with the stars.

Gene

Yeah i have the logo with the circle, the one i have is just too large, soon as i find out about the others due to me, ill spread the word anyways just in case anybody else plans on using them.

The 1/12 P34 decal sheet has a Tamiya logo decal, but it looks like it's a little too big. It's not on the 1/20 kit's decal sheet, though.
