Talky Tina finished 5/1 New pics/video added to first post

Ok, so Talky Tina is done. Finally. I added some basic photos of her, plus a video, to the first post. I plan to try and recreate some scenes from the TZ episode, and get a few shots in black and white. I'll add them when I have a chance.

This has turned out really well. I do have to admit that seeing the doll move is kinda creepy. You don't get that unnerving stare from action figures that dolls give off. After all you went through to put her together I think you could qualify as a doll restoration specialist.

I had to make a black and white version of one of my pictures. I'll try and get more photos soon.

OMG! That is the coolest thing I've seen this year so far. Awesome job! The black and white pics are so eerie. Brings me back when I was a kid watching The Twilight Zone and being afraid of my sister's dolls for years. Bravo!:thumbsup

By the way, I saw a custom Talky Tina someone else did on eBay. It's worded kind of vaguely. I hope they're not trying to claim that this is the original - it's way off.
Here are the pictures. You can see the auction if you do a search for "Brikette."

Excellent job!

I landed here on my own searches for doing a custom Tina and enjoyed the thread very much. I was writing to give you kudos as well as maybe offer a helpful tip on the costume.

Personally I think the dress looks great and don't see a need to change it.

But I know how it is from my own projects when you see something in your head being a certain way.. it always bugs you just a little that you couldn't get it to match exactly in real life. So if you ever feel like attempting a lighter colored dress one of the easiest ways to get the right cloth is to print the fabric yourself.

And it's actually pretty simple and reasonably inexpensive to do. There are some limitations to overcome as far as having the right equipment but other than that the rest is easy. If you want more info just let me know and I can post it here.

Congrats again!

^^Thanks and welcome! I'm glad your search led you here. I wouldn't have minded finding an exact match for the fabric, but I'm not going to change it now. I've heard about dye-sub printers and such - I've seen action figure customizers do it to make screen-printed suits to resemble those made by Mego for their various characters. If I was going to do that, I'd want better reference too, especially color photos of the original prop.

i still remember the phrases that freaked me out the most

My name is talky Tina and i think i could even hate you....
My name is talky Tina and i don't forgive you....
My name is talky Tina and i'm going to kill you...
My name is talky Tina and you better be nice to me....

So now I am very excited about the NEW TALKY TINA replica doll in color coming out in November of this year!!!

Any thoughts????

Its either that or take on the project of building out a moving Brikette doll yourself. If you have the head for that. No thanks.

I thought I did a pretty thorough job of explaining how I did mine. It's not perfect, but it's more accurate than the BifBangPow release. I'm still a fairly novice builder and I did it through trial and error. It wasn't as hard as you'd think and very satisfying. I really encourage you to give it a try.

Also, I don't think the collector doll has any kind of movement, but I might be wrong.
