T800 project

Post ?? there was a story in the news about someone posting "real" gun parts into Oz piece by piece and now there has been a crack down on weapons going though the post, might be better to use a courier (;

Another fellow Aussie mate!! This is outstanding!! I work with metal in my profession on a daily basis, all types of alloy through to quenched and tempered carbon steel. Having said that, I know how hard alloy is to play with. What you continue to acheive is nothing short of amazing. Symmetry and lines you are producing is hard enough to do with CNC, and you are nailing it by hand!!
Best thing about metal it is, if you make a mistake you can either build up the areas with weld and blend the faces back or completely start over again. Either way, both are time consuming and frustrating. Again, like others before me, I am amazed!! Congrats and can't wait to see the final endo!!

Nice words thanks for the encouragement.... This is my Everest and while I have no "official" qualifications I think this will make for a pretty good 3D resume :lol

Were are you ?? sounds like an idea forming:love

Hi, I dont know where to go with this, but I believe the part I am sending you is to be part of a run in the future. I give it to you to make a one off? I would like the metal LASER in return and possibly a skull in metal?:p. I recently helped another fellow acquire a mount from ebay as the seller did not ship to his country.

I am in Canada.

Unfortunately if you not already in Oz I'd have no chance in getting it, the gun laws are real tough over here, so is looks like I'll be doing a scratch build of some type

Thanks for the tought though

Nice to see you still going Jaz.

I am building a Lost In Space Theater inspired by the Jupiter Flight Deck. Posting progress pics in the Replica Props Area.

Already have a nice place picked out for my Term.

Keep up the awesome work.

I'm glad I stumbled on this thread, I can't believe I missed it!

GREAT STUFF!!! :thumbsup

How are you doing with this Jamie? Still watching this with great admiration and zeal!!! It's what I have always wanted to do as well. Hope all is going well with you and the build.

Today I finished the prep on the backplate after the clean up and volume test I'm keen to have a go at casting this sucker in one peice.... However this will mean that I will need to build a larger casting box and make up more sand so I should be ready to have a go by the weekend... So we'll see

First attempt FAIL !!! Well the lession today kiddies is.... The box span was to big to hold to sand, it's to big to cast as one part and will need to be in 3 peices.... But the new crucible worked great, which has dubbled my melt capacity, so there should be less runnig out isuses now ;)
