T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

Thanks ghostman. And that neck piece photogrammetry model looks so clean. Interesting you have two pieces with the T1 groove in there. The 3D modeling may be a bit too advanced for me, so I just scaled up the complete, but undersize scan and plan on printing it, molding it and then casting the parts onto the other LFS piece, prime it and then scan it again. I got some issues with the first scan - possibly because it was still the resin surface, so I plan to prime them all and re-scan them again, and maybe this time covering up the open tops and bottoms, so they scan as solid pieces, like I did with the pelvis. I know it is a round-about way of getting it done... but I'm just not good enough with 3D modeling yet to be able to do this and make it look good.

And yeah, agree with gizmo. Would be really cool to lean the story behind those skulls.

Heck, I wouldn't mind learning the story behind my foam skull, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with that... maybe because I don't really know who to reach out to.

Don't know if I can link to it, as it is ongoing auctions on eBay, but they are the Buy It Now variant... but anyway... there is someone selling quarter scale and sixth scale endoskull 3D prints apparently scanned from a full size prop and scaled down. Unsure of the claim made in the auctions, but I thought they looked cool. Seems he does not do international shipping though.

I do not know the seller and have only just inquired with him about buying one, somehow...

While I have scanned most of the LFS endoskeleton, I'm also looking for scans of authentic SWS castings to complete the endoskeleton project and fix things that may be a little warped or shrunk with what I have now. This is not really a WTB thread... it's just to get it out there that I'm searching for accurate scans of high quality.

And... over the course of this project I have come across a few instances where the DeltaDesignRus M1 scan modeled into T1 style is presented to be a SWS scan. It is really making its round and fooling a lot of people... and I honestly hope with this thread that we can make people aware of the mistaken identity of some of those scans.

For those who are unaware of what I'm talking about, then this is the DeltaDesignRus model. I even believe there is a thread on this forum about this work, but I can't find it right now.

And here's the M1 scan it was made from.

Found the thread where DeltaDesignRus first started talking about his sculpt, post #109. It was a cool thread with lots of great info too.

So many model kit parts make up the nose and temple pieces. We may soon have to start a search for more model kit pieces as new stuff is revealed all the time. :)

For funsies... a comparison between an early DeltaDesignRus, the finished DeltaDesignRus and my foam skull. I cannot put my finger on it - maybe it is the oversized eyes and not closed jaw in the DeltaDesignRus - but it is completely lacking the menace I see in my foam skull scan. My old computer really cannot handle these big models... took about 30 minutes of just crunching before it would let me take a screen capture of these three together. :)

It’s not just the oversized eyes but the whole shape itself. I love the M1 but it has some warping issues that you really notice when it’s put next to something more accurate. DeltadesignRus did a great job correcting a lot of the issues but there’s still more to go.

The whole top of the cranium is more “full” on your foam skull if that makes sense. The jaw line and chin as well is more “masculine” also. It’s hard to pin exact things down but it makes a huge difference in how menacing it looks.

Yeah, he did a lot right. Maybe if he made his beefier - widening it - he would get a better look? Though it would still have issues.

Wish I was better at 3D modeling, so I could easily fix the flaws on my scan. A have loads of time, but barely any energy... so the worst combination... but I will see if I can get cracking on studying what I need to learn to get it done. No promises on speed though.

Found these last night. There was also a video about someone who made a motion tracker head. Unsure whether that was part of the endoskull upload I posted earlier. I just thought it was creepy as heck that it turned on and followed you when you entered the room. Cannot remember if he did it so the eyes locked on and moved first and then the rest of the head, similar to how they did it in the two first movies.

This one is also a nice little video I don't remember if it has been posted before.

Also found a Japanese video where a Predator got a desk job. That one was pretty cool as he'd made an awesome jaw and mandible mechanism, but I cannot search for it as it was written in Kanji... I think

LOL... found it. I know this is for Terminator... buuuuuut... :)

Don't know if this is the same guy and same costume... but the mouth movements seems the same. Insane how he got so much variation out of that mechanism.

Predator visited the company to promote the Blu-ray & DVD release.
He said don't need mask because he has his own.

Those are all very cool. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve watched the Shane Mahan film school one. I love it. Pretty sure he sculpted the skull also.

I’d love to animate the skull on my full size Endo. Even if it’s eyes just turn on and he moves his head towards you as you walk in the door.

Another pic of the lightstorm Endo and a snippet of what they say it is. I honestly am not sure it’s the skull crushing Endo. There’s things that don’t line up but it could be modded after filming for display. The original had a huge amount of cable down the back of it to perform the animation and also a large support in the bottom to hold it on one foot. Could be though.

Done a little more on the shoulder cable connector. Things are a little more square than they appear on the casting, but I don't want to add too much beveling and screw things up. Haven't even checked if that casting matches screen used endoskeletons or whether it's an LFS piece yet.

The font is just random one I thought looked close enough.

Still working on the threads to make them able to fuse with the rest.
