T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

WOW. He looks great.

ghostman. I was talking with swpropmaker a few days ago. We, along with a few others, are working on creating the most accurate endoskeleton to the production look as possible. Would you be interested in participating in that?

I'm sure that I am not the first to notice this, but what is going on with this forearm cuff?

LOL, noticed something fun with some of the Salvation endoskeleton parts that's been up for auction over the years. It seems they fused several parts of the endoskeleton into single parts. Looks like the knee, shin and bottom piece is fused into a single casting, which seems reasonable, since those parts don't really seem to move from each other when assembled. Could be interesting to see if the elbow and lower arm piece is fused as well.

EDIT: They seem to be.

I am making endoskeletons at my own pace as a hobby.
It will probably take me another 5 years or more as I make them in between jobs.
I made the Schwarzenegger sculpture for a job.
I cannot use it as I like because of copyrights.
I want to make the endoskeleton the way I want it, so
I'm not thinking of making it a constrained job at the moment.

So Ghostman you made the MAFEX sculpts?
If so I’ll have to grab them when I can. They are really neat. Well done.

Has anyone posted this pic? It’s a colour group shot like the other black and white ones. Pretty certain the hero T2 opening shot Endo is the one standing in the centre.

Cool. Thanks for sharing them.

I'm working on 5 small, simple models. Mostly piston ends. Finished 2 of them. Working on the third, but it is giving me some trouble. Fourth will come next... with the fifth being the hardest and I may not be able to do that one satisfactory. We'll see.

Work so far. The inside of the middle one was a little tricky to do as it was hard to determine the shapes, so I pressed a piece of super sculpey down there and pulled it back out to see what was going on. I can faintly see a small rim on the inside towards the top, but it seems like it's either sanded down or didn't cast too well, but I assume it's to lock to round top of the piece that pops in there in place. I'll try adding it... or, if anyone knows how it should actually look to make a ball socket joint, please let me know so I can incorporate it into the model.

Question... I don't remember where the piece on the right sits on the endoskeleton. I have 2 of them in my small parts bag... but I'm completely drawing a blank.

Yes, I am a Mafex sculptor in Fleurance.
I did sculpt Schwarzenegger's head.
However,I do not sculpt endoskeleton of the upcoming release.

Sooo cool. I remember when that one came out. You did a fantastic job for being constrained by paper. Incredible!!

Modeled the fourth piece. Regarding the tube thing. I'm seeing faint traces of a rim on the inside of the opening, so I'm wondering whether there was a lip of some kind to lock the other ball socked piece into it. I can do some test prints to figure out where best to place it and how big it should be to be a secure, but loose enough lock, so it can still move around.

I just roughed in the lip for the illustration... too high up towards the opening and maybe too thin. I'll try to place it as close to where I see it in the castings.

Hope the picture makes sense.
