T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

Working on new eyes after getting new and better measurements. I used the insides of the tube piston end for the inside of the eye, which actually gives it that rounded hollow look that I saw in some of the screen captures.

I was thinking of 3D modeling it, but this is clearly a found part. Anyone know where it can be acquired? I'm not too mobile these days, but I'll check at my local hardware stores when I get the chance. It's likely it's a common part that can be found all over the world - hopefully. :)

If it is found, maybe there is technical data that shows exact sizes.

It’s like a hydraulic/braided hose elbow but finding the exact one may be hard.

Okay, I'm going to try to sculpt it anyway. I don't know much about standard inch sizes for such parts, but I measured the nut part to these following widths:

0.612"
0.596"
0.607"
0.610"
0.606"
0.6055"

Is there a standard size close to the middle of these?

According to ChatGPT the closest standard size to 0.6065 inches(the median value) would be 5/8 of an inch (15.875 millimeters).

I worked a little on the piece today. The highlighted parts haven't been fused to the rest yet. I need the side panels with the text added before I can fuse the ring. But I don't know yet how to fuse the screw threads to the rest, as it is a too complex shape for the boolean to get it done.

I may make the nut part separate as it would be on the found part... but the casting is fused... so I don't know whether I need to.

Looking great.

A few T1 pics posted today on the Stan Winston Facebook page for the 39th Anniversary. I find it interesting that they had a couple of serial numbers on the skull originally. The one in this pic and in another pic above the right eye.

Worked a little on the eye today, cleaning up the excessive splatter of polygons where I cut out the grooves. Had to stop after 1 edge cleaned up, as my hands started tingling. I'll take a rest and try again later.

To give you an example of what I mean, here's a picture. I cleaned up the vertical groove and the lower edge of the horizontal groove on the left side, right lower edge and top edge is what I am talking about, regarding clean-up. I want this model to be as clean looking as possible. Other than that clean-up, the eye is basically done.
